this is my third phone with AT&T and they have all done the same thing... all three are Iphones and i dont believe they have multiband capability...

but to your second point... i will definately vote with my wallet... soon as my contract is up or if T-Moblie gets the Iphone again i will gladly pay to break my contract with AT&T.

Joe is right.. the only way to deal with the "bean counter" mentality is to take your money somewhere else... AT&T has pissed off so many loyal customer's and iphone users that i am thinking they will be losing some serious business in the yrs to come...

u know i have noticed something too... so many that had good service now cant get a signal...

sometimes i will literally have 4 bars in my house and then the other 99% of the time i have no signal...

physically thats not possible unless there is something going on with the tower... maybe too much traffic? i dont think AT&T is capable of handling the flow of data from all the new Iphone users with the 3g network.

not to mention they had to upgrade their infrostructure to handle mms messaging on the Iphone. i bet they are having trouble handling the upsurge in data usage.

If this is the case... if we are all experiencing poor service because AT&T bit off more than it could chew, than i think they should provide customers who qualify (i.e. people who cannot get a signal in their home) with a free 3g microcell tower.

why should we have to pay more for AT&T to provide us with the service we were already paying for? they are raking in millions with Iphone... time for them to pony up and make good on their end...

i am still digging on this and i think this pricing was the original plan but now they have compromised to an extent (thank god)

it seems now that the 19.99 unlimited calling plan is not manditory but is there for those that wish to save on their wireless plan minutes while they are calling from their home. the tower itself will cost 150 with no monthly fee but you will still use your minutes regularly.

if this is true than i will be satisfied with this model. I dont use all my minutes as it is so i definately do not need to pay more for unlimited minutes. i will gladly pay the 150 for the device to have service in my home as it is getting cold as hell outside.

now if they can just hurry up and roll this out before i die then i will be happy...

AT&T - Worst Customer Service Ever!!
Ok forgive me for the rant but i have to get this off my chest.

I purchased a 3g iphone may 15th and i was very happy. it was a little quirky with the software with random shutoffs and such but i was still pretty stoked (once i erased and upgraded my 3g to the new OS it worked flawlessly) . however i got an email from apple a few weeks later advertising their new 3gs iphone. during this time of course i had been in the store and talked to my service rep a few times and he made no mention of the new phone or the price drop.

when i talked to the guy a few days after the 3gs dropped i find out my phone dropped one hundred dollars in price and the new phone was now the same price as my 3g 8g. i asked if i could upgrade and he told me that i had a few weeks to upgrade to the new phone for free but i missed it by a few days. he also said i no longer qualified for the price garuntee... i said... how could i possibly know? he told me i received an email that told me. i never got an email. i went back and forth on this point and i finally talked to a supervisor from at&t that told me that no1 received an email about the price drop or the new phone u just had to be lucky enough to find out about it on your own before ur eligibility expired. maybe its just me but that sounds illegal as hell.

i tried to get them to work with me but they wouldnt. i then spent a month calling and complaining and being pushed from store to phone support. i finally talked to the manager of the store and he literally told me that im "sol". I have never in my life been treated that way. i called back the support center and they told me essentially the same thing. i finally hung up on them and they had the audacity to call me back and ask me if i would like to be transferred to the cancellation department. wow... is all i can say.

AT&T is by far the worst and rudest service provider i have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I think they feel that because the economy is down they can get away with treating people like dirt. needless to say i wanted the 3gs so bad i bought it out of pocket for 400$... so all in all i have probably spent over 700$ and they are treating my like garbage and gleefully suggesting i terminate my contract for another 160 bucks. I cant even get a signal inside my house and AT&T wont let me talk on my router either.

well... fine... i am going to t-mobile... and becuase my contract started over with the upgrade i can now terminate my contract for free and return the phone. I love the iphone 3gs... best piece of technology i have ever owned. its a shame it is exclusive to a company that epitomizes the worst corporate america that has to offer.

i have some news for u guys...

i have tried every major carrier and none of them give me good service in my home... AT&T is the best for me but my phone is still barely usable in my house... i miss tons of calls and have to walk outside to stay connected.

i know for sure that some phones have better antenna's than others but it is my personal opinion that most pda's have crappy antenna's. my room mates flip phone does a little better than mine but not much.

that being said i spoke to an AT&T serv. rep and she basically told me that they implemented a beta program that lets people talk on their routers but they only did it for testing and only for certain areas. Now if that is true then that would really solve all of our problems. I get great service everywhere but in my house. If i can get on my router and talk then my problem is solved. I dont give a rats butt... charge me for the minutes.. im not trying to get anything for free... i just want a signal in my home... is that too much to ask?

If AT&T cannot provide a viable wi-fi talk solution soon i am going to break my contract and go with T-mobile who DOES allow people to talk on their routers for a small price. I shouldnt be charged for this if i cant get a signal in my house but w/e...

AT&T... give me a signal in my house or im out!!!!!!!!!
