A comment on the question "ILife '09 Upgrade for New Mac Difficult to Obtain" in Apple:
Mac had an "ILife up-to-date" function on their web site that was supposed to allow you to purchase the update for only $9.95. If you can find the web site and if it will recognize your serial number, you can order the software dirt cheap. If that doesn't work you can download a form and fax it to Apple. I didn't get any response to the fax. I called the Help number on the form and spoke to a nice woman who said I should send the form to her personal fax number and she would get the order processed. Well, the number wasn't toll free so I couldn't send the form from the office and I set it aside to take to Kinkos to fax. Eventually I lost the number and ended up buying a combo package of Ilife and IWork at the Apple store. They should just give you the software when you buy the computer at the store. I paid about $1,800 for my Mac and I had a lot of aggravation over the $9.95 software upgrade. PS I just checked the link for the Ilife up to date web site and it no longer exists. – Sherlock, on May 01, 2009 14:48
Sherlock asked a question in Apple on February 06, 2009 01:09:
ILife '09 Upgrade for New Mac Difficult to ObtainI recently purchased a new imac that is eligible for the $9.95 upgrade to Ilife 09 (saves you $70 on the upgrade). The web page does not recognize the serial number on my Mac, so I am unable to order the upgrade online. I faxed in the order several days ago. The Apple web page allows you to check the status of your order, but when I try to verify that they received the order it shows no matching record. I may never get the upgrade at this rate. I wish they just gave me the software on CD when I bought the computer at the Apple store. What's the point in jumping through all these hoops?
