I'm experiencing the same issue, though because the user is inactive I'm unable to contact them. I'd LOVE to be able to send a request to that user without having it made public.

Well, I already do that - I send IM's to my pingfm 'bots' on GTalk or AIM, but with the recent addition of support for GTalk and AIM, this question surfaced for me. I'd love it to be automatic... ya know, save me about 5 extra seconds ;) When I update ping.fm, nothing happens to my status on AIM or GTalk. Why not if I have it set up to 'talk' to those protocols?

I see that ping.fm has AIM listed in its updates, as well as Google Talk. However, I never see a change on my iChat whenever I use it. I have both these services updated on ping.fm but I'm unsure as to what I need to do to get iChat to recognize the changes.

Thoughts???

cool :) i was able to get the "1 detail request" removed, and now when i visit the relationship page, it shows my husband's username at mine and my username at his. however, where is this information supposed to display on the profile? i don't see it anywhere on either mine nor his.

I have a similar problem that has occurred since I joined back in September. My husband and I both have YouAre accounts, however we cannot successfully confirm any relationship requests. We click "Confirm" and the page tells us the information was updated, however when I return to my page, the request is still there and no relationship information has been updated.

I posted about this before, but I no longer see my post. Apologies if this is indeed a duplicate.

WordPress mu Conflict?

Any chance of an update for WordPress mu? I'm able to activate the plugin, but when I enter the API key, I constantly get the WordPress Failure Notice page.

I have no changes to this issue. When I enter an API Key and click "Update Options" at the bottom of the page, I get the /wp-admin/options.php page loading and the message is:

Are you sure you want to do this?

Please try again.

Please advise.

I'm glad I was able to shed a little light on certain issues... when I first used jabber, it was terribly difficult for me to understand ;) I hope your problem with this has been solved. However, if it hasn't I'd be happy to try to help.

p.s. - I just noticed that you said you get the same error with YIM. If you haven't tried different services, you might do that and see if that fixes the issue. I had to do that before finding one that didn't crap out on me. The one I use now is xmpp.org.uk. They have service for AIM, Yahoo, MSN, and ICQ (I'm sure they have more, but the fact that they had all four of those at once impressed me).

I see you're using Adium. A while back, they were having some issues with their Jabber plugin. I could be wrong about that, but it might be worth it to check for updates to Adium, or go to their web site and see if there are any posts in their forum about jabber errors. Adium's settings may need to be tweaked for Gmail accounts (i.e. server ports and SSL on/off). Here's the Gtalk/Adium setup page: http://www.google.com/support/talk/bi...

I used Psi (on my Mac) to set up Jabber and Gmail accounts. For users like the ping.fm user, what I did was added them through Psi and immediately a popup comes back asking for authorization. I've seen iChat do this as well, but it's much much slower. After authorized, I close Psi and use iChat as usual.

i love that google talk is supported, and would love to see support for jabber.
