I've given this some thought before (and it's certainly been suggested before) but the issue here is that regardless of if it's a "native" iphone app or if it's just an iPhone-formatted version of the site...it still has to ping the server (and occasionally the API's of UPS/FedEx/etc).
So it being "native" doesn't necessarily offer you any benefits.
I'd be interested to hear what you'd say the benefits are of having an actual iPhone app versus just an iPhone formatted version.

Shpigford replied on April 08, 2009 12:43 to the problem "tracking with delay !" in TrackThePack:
Hi Miguel. Unfortunately this isn't something we control.
The tracking number you are tracking is via USPS. USPS has notoriously horrible tracking information...especially for international packages (like the one you are tracking).
There simply isn't anything we can do about that until USPS gets their act together and starts providing better information for us.
Shpigford replied on April 03, 2009 15:25 to the idea "Sort packages in reverse chronological order" in TrackThePack:
Home screen is sorted by delivery date...so whatever is closest to being delivered is at the top. The thing is, there are literally dozens of ways to sort the packages so if we start adding options to change sorting, it can just getting really hairy, really fast.
So far we've really had very few requests for the ability to change sorting (maybe 3, total). So depending on if people request it more, we'll see about getting it added.
Thanks for the feedback and would love to see a link to that blog post. :)
