No way!! This also fixed my GFs inspiron shutdown problem!! Well done.

I think the lid has a magnet in it. When you close the lid, a magnetic pickup sensor next to the touchpad must detect the magnet and go into standby, a bit like door/window alarm contacts. The laptop must think the bracelet is the lid!!. Classic
