My account wasn't disabled that I know of (I was only informed of an incorrect password). However I can't access my account go get my password. Which means I'm in the same boat as a lot of you (no contact from FB, etc.)
THAT BEING SAID
Has anyone tried writing to The Consumerist?
consumerist.com also, suggestions for how best to attack the problem.
They have a pretty good record at raising lots of attention to problems with big companies (Comcast, Southwest Airlines, Best Buy). If it goes big there (and I imagine it would after one person writes a nicely worded email...but the MORE the better!) And if the Consumerist story get's dugg on Digg.com this story will EXPLODE.
This isn't fair: Facebook is only where it is (and making money) because of people like us. Yes, it's a free service, but we're the reason they're making advertising dollars hand-over-fist. The least they could do with all their money is offer quality support for customers they've wronged. Can you imagine an Old Navy tossing you out the front door, and refusing to tell you why?
Sounds like I'm going to be sticking closer and closer to Virb.com (version 2 launching soon!)

I was kicked off Facebook a day and a half ago - no warning, no explanation, nothing. I tried to log in and was informed my account had been disabled by an administrator. I've tried emailing and even calling head office (I'm in London so not a cheap call) but have only had an automated holding response. I have no clue what I am supposed to have done wrong!
This thread made me feel better in one way, that I'm not alone in being treated so badly by an organisation I had previously thought very highly of. But... I can't believe they can treat us so badly! I mean, it doesn't make sense to kick people off a SOCIAL networking site for messaging, poking or sending friend requests. Surely that's the point of Facebook?!?
And the lack of any type of personal customer service is ridiculous. Sending everyone the same standard replies is SO rude ... I mean, they have made millions and millions out of the site because so many of us use it. Surely they can afford to hire some customer service staff who will READ emails or even be available to take calls?!?
I was a total Facebook addict and have family and friends that I keep in touch with mainly or entirely through Facebook. I am going through a tough time at the moment and to have that contact with people ripped away without even an explanation is SO upsetting. And humiliating as I also use it for charity and work contacts... Now I am getting messages from them asking what happened and am I okay - and there are many more who can't get in touch as we always talked through Facebook. :(
Any help or advice would be hugely appreciated. I've emailed all the addresses given in this thread with no proper replies so far. :(

Hi Thor.
My account was deactivated over a week ago. When I asked why, I got an email saying that I have too many friends with fake accounts, and because of that they are terminating MY account. I asked them to reconsider and this was their answer-
Hi Adena,
Unfortunately, we will not be able to reactivate your account after repeated requests to remove fake profiles from your account. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this decision is final.
Thanks,

This is what I wrote back a few days ago and never got a response.
Clark hi,
This seems very unfair to me.
I have no way to know who is real and who is not, and i am the one being punished and penalized for other people having fake accounts.
As a peace worker it is important for me to accept ANYONE that requests my friendship without bias. Isn't that what Facebook is about? Connecting between people? Remember, even behind fake accounts there are real people.
As the Director of the Jerusalem International YMCA Peace Preschool i ask you to reconsider. Facebook got me in touch with peace people from all over the world, even places that might be thought as enemy countries, and that’s what my work is all about. If that fake animal account has a human behind it in Iraq or Syria, shouldn’t that be the bottom line? Striving for peace?
Thank you for listening.
Adena.
Do you have any ideas of what else I can do?? I am so very upset.
Thank you so much,
Adena. – adenal, on October 01, 2008 17:44

On monday 9/29, I learned that I too had been added to the growing roster of banished facebook members. My crime? as far as I can tell, it was adding too many friends too quickly. While I doubt I can move at the speed of a computer program, apparently it was fast enough to unnerve the facebook people (robots?) To be fair, I received a pink warning a few times, sporadically, telling me that I was about to hit a "block" with no further explanation. On several occasions I e-mailed requesting to know the specific quidelines so that I would know if I was violating something. But I got no response. Sort of like taking down all the speed limit signs from the interstate and the getting a ticket for speeding (and the cop won't tell you how fast you were going or should have been going)
So I have now written three increasingly obsequious e-mails to the facebook "appeals" address (I can only envision men in hooded black robes with sharp implements). I am really not averse to groveling, its just part of life sometimes, but this is ridiculous. I know it rankles everyone to spend time with a product and then have it taken away, along with all the work that went into it, with no attempt to inject any concept of fairness into the process, either before, during or after.
I can not think of any other human endeavor where a seemingly arbitrary action can be taken with no notice, opportunity to be heard, fair hearing, or anything resembling due process. If it sounds like I am a lawyer, its because I am. I would love to sue facebook, but believe it would be a fruitless effort unless many people also got involved. (I'm not soliciting, only hypothesizing).

Hey, I joined 10 days ago what seems like throngs of people who've had Facebook accounts disabled for no apparent reason, AND have had no response at all from lots of emails to the various Facebook enquiry channels.
I've been reading around the web and wonder if we might've been victims of the Koobface worm which has been doing the rounds on Facebook?
What I most want to know is how I can get Facebook to a) respond to any of my multiple communications and b) to reinstate my account?
I'm sure this'll be the same with many users here but having built it up over a couple of years, with 800+ friends, 100 photo albums, thousands of tags, events, groups, mails etc etc, this just ain't rebuildable - and why should I / anyone rebuild a profile, if we know Facebook could wipe the account in error again, and not respond to queries?
Infuriating!!
Craig

My Facebook got disabled in the early hours of today. I don't know the reason just yet but I have sent an email to four different addresses.
I tried calling their office but there was no answer and my call got forwarded to vioce mail. I will just wait until tomorrow to see if I receieve any response from them.
I am worried about my privacy.... I have learnt my lesson though. Hopefully, If i get my account re-enabled, I will take down all my pictures and gather all my friends and business associates email addresses. With all these, Facebook has proved to be unreliable

To who it may concern,
I tried to log onto my Facebook account this afternoon, i found my account has been disabled by an administrator.
I received no warning by Facebook in my e-mail explaining why my account was disabled. Therefore i would like to know the reason why my account has been disabled.
If i have violated any of Facebook’s Terms of Use or Code of Conducts, could you please inform me the nature of this violation and so i may clear up any matter that i have may have caused an inconvenience to.
As a result would it possible to enable my account (if it has not been deleted) once this matter has been settled.
I apologised for any problems and inconveniences caused.
Yours Sincerely,
Just have to wait and see what reply i get now and hope they haven't shut down or banned my account =(please contact me asap at playboy_ricardo69@hotmail.com please thanks – Rico, on September 22, 2008 05:24

Dear Thor or whomever can help me.
My facebook account was disabled 2 weeks ago. They said for violating facebook's terms of use. I never harass anyone or have any sexually explicit or pornographic content. However every once in a while I might send a message to some's account that I see might be interesting. And the matter of the fact is that I got to know a lot of people that way and created many friends. After all this is one of the main reasons for facebook, to know new friends if they are interested. Lately I sent a message to a girl and she was very rude but I was very polite and when I usually see someone is not interested to talk to me then I do not send back or keep harassing. She was very rude, not to mention she told me was 11 years old, which I can't tell from her account because it is not accesible before sending. I thought people under 18 are not allowed, that is in my defense, but nonetheless I did not send back but I think she reported me and next day my account was closed. I sent about 5 emails to different addresses and finally they reply back after 10 days saying that facebook does not allow blah blah and the decision is final. I wrote to the same rep. and he said that I have sent to different people on several occasions and that again the decision is final. Keep in mind that I did not get any warning messages or emails whatsoever and I have been using facebook for 2 years and doing the same acceptable stuff. Should I not get a second chance?
So question is does that mean it is final? I mean really I did not do anything wrong except that. Is there any chance if I email again and a different rep answer, they might. Or if I am tireless and persist? Please anyone help, I am desperate.
Ahmed
