as todd pointed out, we do not have the possibility to choose your profile through the device itself in place at the moment (see faq section 'website' - 'poken card') http://www.doyoupoken.com/web/guest/s... . there are too many usability issues.
but as the faq article indicates, there will be more options coming up.

the instructions for successful pokening can be found in the faq section 'poken device', under number 3, how to poken with someone. it also shows in 'the poken phenomenon: explained' video on the homepage.
however, as you can see in this getsatisfaction thread: http://getsatisfaction.com/poken/topi..., we are encountering hiccups with some sparks which don't connect at the first try. the hardware/product team is looking into this to improve first-try success of pokening.

das ist ein bug der bei ein paar usern zur zeit vorkommt. morgen wird eine updatete version unserer beta site online gehen, das dieses problem ausmerzen sollte.

this is a bug a couple of users are encountering at the moment. an updated version of the website will be up this evening, this is addressing a lot of the bugs that were showing up over the past few days on our beta site.

i have tracked this bug and will let you know as soon as we have a solution for this. javascript problems occur on our beta site for some users - thanks for hanging in there and for bearing with us until we have worked this out.
there will be a site update in 24 hours, so could I ask you to try again tomorrow evening to check if you still are experiencing problems?

to poken (past tense: pokened) is the correct verb, yes :-)

we have deliberately chosen to have all users synch and accept their pending contacts individually, because we want everyone to decide for themselves who they have in their contact list, and whom they share their contact information with.

there is the possibility to synchronize your contacts in the pokenHUB with your outlook. when you are in the dashboard, scroll down to your contact list, and you will find the blue 'download vcard' button.
concerning your other input about suggested contacts: this is a possibility that will definitely will be discussed within the product team in the future.
