hello there!
it seems that this poken has already been activated and linked to an account. has your friend used it previously?
this is not a big issue, you can easily de-link a poken from an account, and then it is as new.
to de-link a device from your account, go to 'devices' in your pokenHUB, and you will find the 'unlink device' button there.

sorry to hear about your troubles with your poken.
so you were able to poken and exchange info for about 1-2 hours, but then it did not work anymore? you are not pressing the button in the palm at all, are you? and you are holding the 2 pokens together for about 2 seconds without moving the hands?
what would be interesting to know also is whether both hands blink red when trying to poken? does your 'lightshow' work, meaning if you press the button in the poken palm for about 4 seconds, do you get the blinking colourful lights?
i think it might be a problem of a broken antenna.

by automatically connecting with your poken friends we mean that you will have the link to their social network accounts, and can easily find them there. you will however NOT be automatically connected in those social networks. we want our users to have the safest experience possible when it comes to their data. this means that it is important to us that you as a user can still decide whom you want to accept to which social network.

it sounds very much as if the battery is dead. does the poken not glow/blink anymore at all? if you press the button in the palm for 3-4 seconds, does the lightshow come on, or nothing happens?
where did you buy your poken from? as i understand it, you don't have it since a long time, correct? if you have it from a reseller you might want to contact them concerning the battery already being dead (if this is the case).
