Growl behavior with 10+ new tweetsI often get 10 or more new tweets at a time and would like to see at least some of them as Growl notifications, rather than the generic single notification telling me how many tweets I've received.
So... it would be great if Tweetie growled the most recent 8-9 and then finished with a notification that says something like "You have x more new tweets".
If I can scan at least some of these tweets in Growl notifications, it will reduce the sense that I need to stop what I'm doing to go check Tweetie. So, perhaps somewhat counter-intuitively, more Growl notifications would be a lot less of a time-sink than the current generic message.

Growl notification title suggestion: "Tweet: username"The new Growl notifications in ver. 1.2 are a definite improvement, but I think more can be done, because the titles are too wordy now.
Better might be: "Tweet: username" or "Mention: username", etc.
The word "New" is superfluous and "from" just takes up space, both of which make scanning the notifications difficult. Another option, if you like wordy, would be to keep "from", but make it not bold, if that's possible with Growl. So you'd have just "Tweet" and "username" in bold.

Yep. Excellent point. And what I like about the Followers list in Tweetie/iPhone is that it lists your followers newest to oldest, so it's dead easy to go check for new followers and see if you want to follow them back. – simplygrey, on May 13, 2009 16:32

Followers lists in Twitterrific 2.0 for iPhone?I can't seem to find a way, in the iPhone app, to show my Followers/Following lists. I would have thought that tapping on the "number of" boxes on my profile page would do that, but doesn't.
So far, it's only one of two things that I like about Tweetie and can't do in Twitterrific (the other being the landscape keyboard for typing tweets). Other than that, I'm loving ver. 2.0!
Cheers,

Yeah, thx! I've actually already submitted a subscription request. And "fast and light" sounds good. I don't actually use RSS readers on my iPhone anymore because they tend to take too long to sync. Then there's that whole sense that "I. must. read. everything...." thing that bugs me about most RSS readers. 'cept Feedly of course! As if "inbox-zero" wasn't bad enough, why go crazy trying to achieve "RSS-zero", too?! ;) – simplygrey, on May 05, 2009 19:03

Yeah, not more than $5 for me, too, and that only if it really stands out from the competition. Although if it's anything like Feedly now, I'm sure it will. If it's not significantly better, then I'd say no more that $3-4. – simplygrey, on May 05, 2009 18:55-

A comment on the problem "Keep getting a "null" error and Tweetie stops updating my timelines." in atebits:
And also, why when Tweetie/Mac is stuck can I still use Tweetie/iPhone just fine. Shouldn't API overload apply to all my apps that try to access my account? – simplygrey, on April 25, 2009 13:42

OK, I just read this blog post - http://bit.ly/cbuF9 - over on the TweetDeck blog, which more or less confirms my suspicions about the web services and my blogs. Guess I'll have to rethink exactly how I get my tweets and other status updates into my various online presences. Strange I haven't heard more talk about this, though. I didn't think that the way I was connecting Twitter to stuff was all that unusual. – simplygrey, on April 25, 2009 12:23

Thanks. Yeah, it's weird. I might play around with TweetDeck a little bit, since it does something similar but gives better messages about it. I might also try Tweetie again after a reboot and with basically no other apps running to see if there's a conflict of some sort.
Then the only other thing I can think of is that there's some online service that's causing a problem somehow. Something else that accesses my Twitter feed, but that not many people are using yet. Maybe chi.mp? 'Cause if it was something common like Facebook, I'd think that a lot more people would be having a similar problem. – simplygrey, on April 25, 2009 09:54
