At the moment there is something similar to what your looking for, but no quite. what you can do is double click on the walls, and this allows you to zoom in on them. Though the coding behind them is still a bit messy. also nice for hiding some icons, files, etc that you dont want people to see as u can hide them higher on the walls, also on the wall thats at the bottom. that gives you tons more space to place icons.
While im mentioning the walls. you are able to edit the texture that you see on them by going to bumtop/textures/ folder and editing the file called ao_top_bottom_wall_256.png. you can make it look how you want as seen in the image below

hope this helps a little bit.

the vid that you see on the homepage is a prototype, there is no operating system behind it, so now they are busy intergrating it into windows, mac, etc enviroments which is a more difficult. the idea is to get bumptop running as it did in the prototype with extra feature's that we the beta's would like to see and so forth.
So all in all some of the features that you see in to prototype have not yet been implemented into the actual program itself.

Things I have found that I likeHey,
Similar to my other section about problems that i have found, im adding this topic for features that i have found that others might not know of:
1.
Double clicking on the walls makes you zoom in on them.
As I find more interesting features i will add them here.
Other people are welcome to add things as well that they think other people might not know.

Problems/Inconveniences that I have foundHi,
I'll be using this section to send feed back on problems that i have found:
1. [29/08/2008]
Image Below. When I select multiple tiles on a wall (Originally the files were in area1) and try drag them off onto the the floor I noticed that only the tile that i have draggedwill come off (Had the tile in area 3 selected). The other images that i have selected will stay pinned to the wall but have a spring effect to them(Area 2). It looks something like this:
2. [29/08/2008]
If you look at the image below, I will make a folder and pin it to a wall like in area 1, then when i right click the folder and tell it to Expand to Pile it does what is showen in area 2, the little blue dot appears, you cant select it, nothing until you folderize the pile again, you can move the pile anywhere you want it to, but as soon at you click folderize it will return to where ever it was pinned on the wall
3. [31/08/2008]
When using the fan out function, you cant add things to it which is not entirely necessary, but i think people should be able to drag items out from the fan, basically the same as the grid view, where people are able to take things out of the grid or they can add to the grid.
I will keep updating this section with problems that I encounter.
By the way love the whole concept of BumpTop.
Keep up the good work.

I think what he asking is basically similar to what we saw in the prototype, where the tiles lose some of the physical attributes, they dont turn but instead always remain squared to the walls, (the pictures are always faceing towards the user) even if you throw them around they will always stay the same.
a bit dodgy of an explination but hopefully you will understand.
A comment on the discussion "How I can download BumpTop?" in BumpTop:
Hey, the beta should work on your setup but some people are running into problems here and there, so nothing is guaranteed to work.
I am currently running a very old pc with 1.2gb ram and bumptop runs.
So to answer your question a bit, your ram specs are enough to run the beta. – Siru5, on August 29, 2008 11:54

Folder - "More" Doesnt Work All The TimeHi,
I'm having problems with the more function on folders,
What happens is that ill grab a few tiles, make them into a pile from there I would folderize the pile, then ill right click the newly create folder and select more, but nothing happens, I have other folders and the more works on them.
When i noticed this problem i had left the folder and came searching here to see if i could find someone else with this problem, after some searching i was unseccessful, i went back to bumptop and tried again, and to my surprise it worked, im gana try it with another folder leaving it there for an extended period of time and see of the more will work then.
Otherwise im a bit clueless on what i might be doing wrong, or what problem i'm having.
Thanks if someone from the team could maybe shine some light.
**I'm n00b just got BumpTop today
