Fast Track Task EntryFaster task entry would be very helpful. There is a brainstorming mode of project planning where you just want to get those tasks in there very quickly. You can go back and create dates and assignments later. The faster the better.

Challenge: Multiple Person Task AssignmentSome tasks require multiple assignments. There are two reasons for this. One is that the task requires two people to complete it. Another is that the same task must be performed by more than one person, and it would be nice to show this as one task with four different checkmarks. For example, the project is recruitement. The team consists of four people, each of whom has to read each application. So an example of a task is "Review John Smith Application." You want to see who has done it, and who has not yet done it, all in one place.

Challenge: Mobile InterfaceHere is a challenge for you! Come up with a mobile interface for DeskAway, something that would work on a SmartPhone or Blackberry. Very difficult to do with a product as feature rich as DeskAway, but this is the way of the future, and I already see a demand coming from my users for something like this. Lack of a mobile interface drives some users back to the same old email mess. At least it is available on the portable device.

I am currently trying another system that has a nice "copy" feature. True templating may be the single most important feature we need. I see a lot of value in DeskAway and have also signed up for an account and will soon convert it to the minimum paid category, and would like to share my ideas on this with you -- I have given this feature a lot of thought.
Like others, we do many highly repetitive projects and would benefit greatly from this ability. The two issues are (a) specific task assignments and (b) specific dates. For specific task assignments, I think I have a good solution. The system should allow tasks in a template to be assigned by role rather than by person. Then, when a project is cloned from a template, it should be possible to map roles to specific people. Important - it must be possible to assign the same person to more than one role. This would do very nicely.
On dates, I do not have a perfect solution. I suppose that defining the all due dates in a template as an offset from the project start date would provide a decent first approximation. However, "Work expands to fill the time allotted to it." For us, an otherwise very similar project might have anywhere from one week to two months to complete, and the due date offsets will vary inevitably in such cases. If anyone can think of something better, I'd love to hear it. One possible improvement would be to have a choice when setting up a due date in a template: Either an offset from the start date, or a percentage of the way through the entire project. This all can get very complicated and brings up the whole concept of task dependence, which I believe is not in DeskAway and you probably don't want it, and I understand that.
I hope these ideas are useful and look forward to seeing what you come up with for this feature. You are wise to recognize this is not a quickie feature, and I am glad to see that.-

Project Template ConceptWe are an organization that puts on events. The project management software I am looking for would have a concept of "project template" that could stamp out an initial version of the project, to be tweaked by the event manager for specifics. We might have several different templates for different types of events. But this would allow us to incorporate learnings and continuous improvement into our project organization and get going quickly, which we often need to do.

"Follow" is hard to follow. Do ya follow? When I said I wanted to follow someone, I repeatedly got a vague error message that there was a problem, and I should refresh the page. I kept doing it, same error message, over and over. But I guess the person did get my follow request. Or maybe not. Maybe it was because I had invited them and the invitation was pending - maybe that creates a problem. So people have to accept the follow request, is that it? I don't quite get this.

It worked for me when I entered "follow username" via IM. But this is not smart. I typed in "follow all" and it replied: Okay! If ALL accepts your request, you'll start getting ALL's updates. This is not smart either. There should be such a setting. Then all I need is my IM app, no others. That is what I want. That's what anyone would want, I think.

I'm having this problem too, but I can't tell you that!I'm having this problem too is a great idea but does not work. I tried to say that, and even though I am signed into twitter, it wanted me to sign in again, and it would not accept my login credentials, which I know were correct.
