Slate8 gave praise in Songbird on June 11, 2009 12:37:
Songbird featured in the Ubuntu UK PodcastJust want to say that Songbird had a mention in the most recent episode of the Ubuntu UK Podcast (S02E06). One of the presenters found it was the only media player on Ubuntu that could sync his wife's new iPod Nano!
Big congrats to the Songbird team! Great to hear Songbird get this kind of exposure.
If you are interested go to http://podcast.ubuntu-uk.org/2009/06/... and listen for the mention at around the three minute mark.

Yup - this has been happening for some time for me too on various different Ubuntu machines. See my topic on it at http://getsatisfaction.com/songbird/t...
I have been playing around and it just seems to be related to the size of my library. The more files I remove from my library the faster search becomes.

With the public SVN Timeline you can see what is done when... http://timeline.songbirdnest.com/client/
Hope this helps.

I just had a go at this using FireFox in both Windows XP with Media Player and Ubuntu with Mplayer but it did not work for me.
I suggest it's an issue with the site rather than Songbird.
I use the stream from this site a lot and it seems to use the same technique and works ok for me: http://nuskoolbreaks.co.uk/
Slate8 replied on October 28, 2008 11:47 to the problem ""Library" missing after updating Songbird in Ubuntu." in Songbird:
I had this before - try this. Browse to your home directory, press "<ctrl> h" to show hidden folders and delete the .songbird2 folder. This will remove your profile and any addons you had stored etc... you'll need to import your media again.
When this happened to me it was when upgrading from one nightly to a newer version...
Hope this helps.</ctrl>

Slate8 replied on October 23, 2008 10:25 to the question "Songbird 0.7 won't start on Mythbuntu 64 bit" in Songbird:
As far as I know the default windowing system when installing Mythbuntu is XFCE, although you can choose Gnome if you want. If you are on XFCE, when you go to the "Applications" menu the first option will be "Settings", where on Gnome it will be "Accessories".
Will come back to you on whether I get Songbird to work on Mythbuntu 64-bit with XFCE.

Ah, that'll be it then - I'm on the latest nightly; nothing quite like bleeding edge ;)
I know you're busy with songbird core stuff at the moment so don't worry about this too much, it was just a niggle. Love this plug-in though as well as all your album art work. The embedded album art side of things is working really well in Songbird, congrats!
