as many as possible. if you know where the other wifi router (s) are located, enter them on the map accordingly, if not on your location.

the more you enter, the better;-)

no, the vendors can't make mistakes with the mac addresses but they can be cloned by others... but i think that's not the problem...

how many wifi beacons do you pick up @ home???

you need to enter the MAC address of the wifi station that you connect to, not your own computers MAC address. enter as many wifi stations as you can, best is to scan in various places around yor house, and enter those locations accordingly into the map... you can do that as often as you like...

but first check which wifi signal your receving when you get the wrong location! then you know which wifi beacon might be misplaced in the skyhook/loki database...

no, there isn't... there's only the coverage map interface (at loki and skyhook), based on google maps, no google earth solutiuon neither for coverage look up;-(

did you enter the right mac address? you need the address of your wifi router, or the wifi station you want to enter into the database. not the mac address of your computers wifi card.

i've seen it often that people get confused and enter the wrong mac address... you need a wifi stumbler application to get the mac addresses of th wifi stations around you...

after knowing where it is i have to say i like the new solution better... the toolbar in fact occupies a lot of space... the problem is/was finding it... but once i found it i like it...

even though i'm logged in now, the my.loki still displays the "want automatic updates"...

but the rest is clear and working now, thnx ryan... i guess a lot of people have not seen the icon in FF 2.... and some never will. since they don't bother to investigate or use the support on loki....

and it always tells me that i have to download loki if i want automatic updates, but in the end i have to update my location manually to place myself @ my real actual location, another bug???

and one has to manually log into my.loki.com, with the toolbar everything is automated... very annoying!

i s there any choice??? i'm on mac, and FF 2 doesn't allow me to place the loki toolbar, or am i missing something???

i tested loki under parallels on FF 2/windows XP, and i have to say the toolbar has it's advantages... but since i almost never use windows that advantage is lost in my case...

you can use loki.com to enter your locations wifi-routers automatically to the skyhook databse, normally after 2 days the information is online... loki is part of skyhook. i have no idea why it's so much faster that way...

i'd love to see a standalone version which let's the enduser see available data, like how many wifi beacons are available. and on top it would be awesome if interested parties could integrate their GPS and contribute in areas that have not been scanned yet, same goes for the iphone 3G, or the iphone 2G if the bluetooth stack gets GPS capabilities... i think many mac users would love to be able to contribute!
