Yep, definitely want to tune certain people out, especially from my FB feed--FB doesn't seem to let me do it completely, it just shows those people "less". But if the people I care about aren't saying much, I get a ton of crap from people I just want to keep in my "address book" but don't really need to know further details about, say, when they fed their cat last.

In short: Looking forward to this feature.

What Matt really means, is that we're -working- on implementing this on the server side. However, I hope you'll be pleased to find that I've uploaded a small workaround which should alleviate the "locking up" issue (as of 1/15/08 20:51MST).

Please let us know if this works to not lock up your browser, and we'll have the other fix up as soon as possible.

Great idea, something we've already got in the works. We were big fans of Brad Feld's "friend heirarchy" idea:

So thus, we are going to allow groups and some sort of heirarchy so that you can define the "importance" of your friends

What you're experiencing is the Lifestream reloading. When you click "Save" or hit enter, after renaming a contact, it will cause the LS to reload...this then uses the client side (your) javascript to re-sort everything. We have changed this to a server side action (on our computers) and it will hopefully fix this.

We should be able to get this in the next revision. I'll post to here if it has completely solved this problem.
