Snapact Support replied on March 02, 2009 18:18 to the problem "'MiniDumpWriteDump' wasn't found during starting" in Snapact:
Hi Rondos,
Unfortunately, the issue was cased by Snapact not supporting Windows 2000, according to http://www.snapact.com/requirements.
The application crashed on Windows 2000 and the "DBGHelp.dll" is a module that Windows 2000 triggered in attempting to diagnose what the issue was. And since Snapact doesn't support Windows 2000, this module isn't available on your system.
We apologize for this inconvenience and hope to be able to serve your needs in the future.

Dear Cosmican,
Thanks for posting your concern about Snapact showing none-photo related files.
Your wanting of Snapact only displaying media-related files is a very useful feature. Although we can't say that it's the only view that a user need to see, but we should be able to give users a choice of hiding none-media-related file.
We will have a note of it and consider it for future release.
Should you have other comments/suggestions/likes/dislikes, please continue posting them here or contact us directly at help@Snapact.com

Snapact Support replied on February 08, 2009 05:03 to the question "Interrupted while moving images" in Snapact:
Dear KPL,
Thanks for writing to Snapact.com about your question.
As the matter of fact, you don't need to copy/move images in order to use Snapact. Snapact can browse your photos from where they are. The experience that you described (as how you exited/canceled out of ) was the scanning wizard launched at the first run of Snapact. Currently, there is no way to get it back. But fortunately, you don't really need to run it again.
To browse your photos, you can use the "Folders" pane to explore your images/photos just like you are in Windows Explorer.
Snapact allows you to build your own albums, which is a collection of photos from different locations(folders) on your hard drive(s). Also, you can share your albums online with ease if you have created a Snapact.com account.
To learn more about Snapact, please visit the quick start guide at http://www.snapact.com/help/quick-start
You can also get help from the application just by press F1. There is an interactive help available.
Happy Snapact-ing!

Snapact Support replied on February 08, 2009 04:54 to the question "adding my picture to my profile" in Snapact:
Hi Ray,
Thanks for posting your questions about how set a photo to be your profile.
Login to your account and find a photo that you like. You should be looking at an individual photo rather than looking at an album. To the bottom-right corner of the photo, you will see a link called "Use as a profile photo", click on that link to set the picture that you are viewing as your profile picture.
Please note that you need to be the owner of a photo in order to set the photo as a profile picture.
Happy Snapact-ing!

Snapact Support replied on February 08, 2009 00:18 to the question "The friends that have signed do not show up why ?" in Snapact:
Hi Ray,
Thanks for posting your question on GetSatisfaction about Adding Friends in Snapact community.
To add someone as your friend, you need to browse to that person's Snapact homepage. One's homepage on Snapact looks like: http://www.snapact.com/u/[account-name], where [account-name] is replaced with the actual account name that this person had chosen.
Once you are on their homepage, you should look for the "Add to friends", link in the "Action" box to the left of the screen where you will find a bunch of thing that you can do with Snapact online share.
Of course, your friend will receive and then acknowledge/accept your request for adding them as online friends. It also takes the sever some time to reflect your friendship status.
If you send an email to help@snapact.com with your [account-name], we will see what happens to your "Add to friends" request and be able to assist you privately.
Thanks for using Snapact and we hope you enjoy it.

Snapact Support replied on January 30, 2009 23:33 to the question "Do you plan on supporting a background sync?" in Snapact:
Hello Tom,
Both back ground sync and now back up services are actually on the product roadmap. For specific timeline, I can't really say. But I am serious when I say that both features are on the product roadmap. I know that Snapact may face the risk of losing customers like you if we don't act quick enough.
We checked out Mozy.com and it is well implemented. Nevertheless, we think that Snapact has a natural framework for us to plug in the future "back up" service.
As for background sync, it is just the matter of scheduling our resource to achieve it.
Once we have any updates on these two features, I will keep you posted.
Hope you will stick around or we will be good enough to lure you back, Tom.
Best

Dear Smussyclown,
Thank you for spending time and effort to provide us with some candid and insightful comments. They are particularly valuable as coming from a pair of fresh eyes.
All points will be passed back to the product team immediately. Given what I read, I assume you are also in the technology industry or at least a very experienced user of computing technology. We love to have you stick around and sometimes provide us with feedback and suggestions. As you might have guessed, we are still in beta stage and things are neither complete nor perfect. So do come back and check us out again when you have time. Constantly listening to what users are saying and make meaningful improvements to the solution in timely fashion is how we will get Snapact better.
You can also reach us by email: help@snapact.com. We are developing an advanced beta tester program where we will reward our beta testers with much larger online photo sharing quota than currently posted. If you are interested, please let us know by contacting us at the help@snapact.com email

Snapact Support replied on December 22, 2008 07:00 to the question "Losing Room on Main Drive from Photos Copy from 2nd Drive" in Snapact:
Hello CityRanch,
When you said that your free space on C: drive dropped from 101GB to 81 GB, how big were those files that you actually copied from the external driver to your main hard drive? Also, are you able to view those pictures from either Snapact or the Windows Explorer?
Snapact has an issue with adding pictures from removable hard drives (e.g., USB drivers, extneral hard drives) to albums. Nevertheless, Snapact should be able to browse, view and edit those photos just fine if you just want to keep those photos locally on your hard drive.
Also, Snapact does require you retain the source of the photos which are uploaded to Snapact website on your hard drive.
Please let me know if I have answered your questions.

Snapact Support replied on November 30, 2008 03:42 to the question "MINI-BASKET WOAAAAAA'ssss" in Snapact:
Hello Jabbers,
Thanks for posting this question.
Mini-basket is a temporary collection of pictures of interests so that you can do "something" about it without having to create a Snapact album or an actual file folder.
So far, there is only one way to remove a picture from the "Mini-basket" - clearn the entire content of the mini-basket. This is achieved from clicking the quick-access menu, which is located at the top-right corner of the mini-basket. You will see two menu items: Browse Basket and Clear Basket.
When you choose "Clear Basket", only shortcuts to actual images will be removed from the basket, not the physcial file of the images.
To delete the images, you need to press the "delete" button or select "Delete" from the context menu when right-mouse selecting an image.
Hope my explaination makes it clear.
Happy Snapacting!

Snapact Support replied on November 19, 2008 23:36 to the question "Do you plan on supporting a background sync?" in Snapact:
Tom,
Thanks for coming back and post your thoughts again on this topic. Based on what you said we picked a few things that you want to see as a "background sync" feature in snapact:
1) auto-detecting changes to an already published album (we assume that's what you meant by "a directory")
2) background sync can be interrupted but can also be resumed (automatically)
3) manage the bandwidth consumption of background sync so that it doesn't bring your computer's internet usage down to its knees.
I consider all of the above are useful and meaning requests for a good "background sync" feature. We hear you and will log this for future development.
Thanks again for your insightful comments and suggestions.

Hi Brad,
Currently, snapact doesn't support transferring photo or data from another photo sharing service provider, although we are always open to such possibility in the future. Our product team was informed of your inquire. we look forward to hearing more of such demand from other users as well so that we can decide in the future the feasibility, in both technical terms and legal terms, of transferring data from another service provider.
Meanwhile, if you have further thoughts on this topic and would like to communicate to us about your needs, please feel free to write to us at any time.

Hi Jaybird,
To delete a photo in snapact, simply select the photo and press the "delete" button on your keyboard. Alternatively, you can also "right-mouse-click" the target photo and then select the "Delete" menu from the context menu that pops up. You will then be prompted for confirmation.
Please note that, by choosing either actions, you will be deleting your photo from your hard drive and put them into the Recycle Bin.

Snapact Support replied on October 24, 2008 05:37 to the problem "Trapped on carousel screen and can't get out!!!" in Snapact:
If you double click on an image in Thumbnail view to enter into "Viewer mode", to get back to the 'explorer' screen with the mini-basket and folder list, simply double-click on the image again or you can press the "Enter" key. Double-clicking on the "Thumbnail view" image or the "Viewer mode" image toggles you between the two views. Pressing the "Enter" key will do the same thing. This should solve your issue.

Snapact Support replied on October 12, 2008 06:50 to the question "How can you edit your photos with Snapact Photo Manager?" in Snapact:
To edit your photos with Snapact Photo Manager, simply follow these steps:
1) Launch Snapact Photo Manager
2) Select the "Folder" or "Album" that contains the photo that you would like to edit or enhance
3) In the "Thumbnail Browser" mode, double-click on the thumbnail photo, or select the thumbnail photo and press the "Enter" key on your keyboard. Next you will enter the "Viewer" mode. At the top of the Viewer mode screen, you will see a toolbar with various editing/enhancement options.
4) Click on the edit/enhance button of your choice. If you're not sure what the buttons are, simply place/hover your mouse cursor over the button and a text tooltip will appear identifying the name or purpose of the button.
5) If you make any edits to the photo and want to undo the edit/change, you can click the "undo" button. Once you click the "undo" button, you can also click the "redo" button to redo the edit/change. Any edits/changes to your photos will not be applied until you save your changes.
6) Once you make an edit/change to your photo, you can either double-click on the photo to return to the Thumbnail Browser mode or press the "Enter" key on your keyboard. If there are any changes made to the photo, you will be prompted to "Save" or "Cancel" your changes.
