Mr Ewok. Indeed, that's annoying, ain't it? The best way to solve it is to edit the assets/snitter.css file and remove line 158 (you should see border:blue there). Alternatively, it can be solved with a user style:
.items *:nth-child(2) {border:none;}
This'll override the style that's currently set. This will be fixed in the next version (although, it'll be awhile before it gets released).
Jonathan Snook asked a question in Brightkite on November 24, 2008 14:41:
Prevent spam by only allowing message feature to connectionsI recently got spammed by verababy and realized that it'd be nice to have an option to only be able to accept messages (since they're sent via email) from people that I've explicitly accepted. As it is now, there's not much stopping somebody from creating a junk account and then sending direct message spam to everybody.

It'd be nice to set a status on a suggestionIt'd be nice to set a status on a suggestion such as "requested" (by default), "working on it", and "Sorry, no" Declined suggestions maybe don't appear on the widget but people who click through to Skribit see it.

Jonathan Snook replied on March 21, 2008 20:47 to the question "No snitter service since upgrade" in Snitter:
You likely have to remove the existing database. In Windows, this is located in C:\documents and settings\yourloginname\Application Data\Snitter.88C687E32FFE9452F058A6F4E67005F998FC3136.1\Local Store\snitter.db.
I'm not sure where this is located on a Mac but a search for snitter.db should find it. Delete that and then restart the application and you should be all set.

Jonathan Snook replied on February 04, 2008 15:51 to the problem "How can I resize Snitter? And random crashes" in Snitter:
The random crashing I don't have any control over but will hopefully be resolved when AIR hits 1.0.
As for the resize, there's a resize point in the bottom right hand corner (looks like two diagonal white lines). Click and drag and that point should resize the window. You won't see the resize cursor – an unfortunate limitation of AIR.
Jonathan Snook replied on January 28, 2008 04:50 to the problem "proxy" in Snitter:
I've heard rumour that you can install a JRE and set proxy settings through there (part of the AIR runtime runs on Java). Check out http://www.java.com/en/download/help/... to see if that helps.

I've set up this temp page for now. It uses the Flash badge installer. Let me know if that works. :)

Are you trying to install the .027 dev version? (and pardon my mac ignorance here but...) if so, do you just open the link or are you saving the file locally? (although I'd suspect it should matter either way)
Does it go through the install process? or, instead of installing, it just shows the contents as a folder?
