SnoWake reported a problem in Garmin on July 22, 2009 03:20:
Garmin Oregon 550t Does Not Detect USB ConnectionGarmin Oregon 550t won't detect USB connection nor enter Mass Storage Mode - rendering it useless. Very familiar with Garmin GPSrs, including both Colorado 400t and Oregon 400t. Beginning to think I just unpacked a lemon?
I've tried every possible combination of profile, interface setting, USB port, cable, etc - all to no avail. Not entirely true - once or twice, inexplicably, the unit would enter Mass Storage mode - and then immediately power off. This is not reproducible and seemingly totally random: it has occurred perhaps one time out of one hundred.
Communicator will not detect device while in a normal, powered on state.
I'm starting to suspect a faulty connector, cold solder joint, or other physical problem that would cause such intermittent behavior.-

Different UIs result in different 'reminders'I get different results if adding via voice, IM, web or Blackberry interfaces. Why is this? Add vs. remember - and I just doing it wrong?

Native Android AppPlease develop a native Android application so I can enjoy ReQall on my G1, as well as the Blackberry and iPhone, instead of relying on the mobile web interface.

Realtime or post-commissioning Spot location 'tuning'Given the challenges of GPS accuracy in urban settings - it might be nice to provide a Google-map enabled interface for confirming and adjusting Spot locations.

Gowalla app on Android?Any update or details on the plans to develop an Android version of the Gowalla app? Experimenting with my first-gen iPhone, but want the app on my GPS-enabled G1!
Billy replied on March 19, 2009 07:41 to the problem "Commissioning Spots Insanely Slow" in Gowalla:
Based on my experience geocaching in urban areas - I expect this to be rather problematic. While commissioning a spot or checking in may be quick and easy in a wide-open park or unobstructed area - getting a reliable, ACCURATE GPS fix in urban settings is just downright problematic. In downtown San Francisco, even with a high-end, dedicated handheld GPSr - it's often impossible to get a fix amidst the urban jungle - and, even if starting in a nice open spot like Justin Herman Plaza - things start getting really 'fuzzy' as you walk through the financial district and up into ChinaTown.
Is there a pre-defined 'radius' from the posted coords of a spot, that you must be within, in order to check in?
