    New material?
When you recently added your new fabrics, I recall there being a black truck tarp material. I can't find it anymore. Is it all gone already? Or did I just imagine this?

What is the ring for on the side of the bag?
I am trying to figure out what this ring is for on the side. I know the smaller ring is for the stabilizer strap. What is the larger ring for? I included an image just in case you weren't sure what I was referring to.

Is it just to hang whatever off of?

2-way or Slider for Blackberry Bold?
I have a new Blackberry Bold. I used to just ride with the phone in my pocket, but I kind of want to keep this one looking nice.

Is either the 2-way, slider, or the cell-phone case a good fit for it? The Bold is bigger than an ipod or most of the other devices that are suggested. I wanted to hear from someone with experience.

How can I take up the extra strap on my classic messenger?
Maybe I am not the brightest, but I can't figure out how to take up the excess strap on my Timbuk2 messenger bag. There is the cam, that tightens up the strap, then below it there is [I don't know what you even call it...] some assembly to take in and let out strap. When I take in a lot, the strap bunches up and the cam is pushed open.

Is there a better way to take it in that I don't realize?

I am a graduate student in mathematics in Dallas, TX. All of my riding is exclusively urban. I commute by fixed gear bike about 18 miles every day constantly carrying a 20 pound load or so of books, notebooks, and a laptop. I also have to carry papers to be graded from my students; I love the fact that I can carry a full load and not have to worry about their papers getting crumpled.

In addition, I always have extras: beer, groceries, or more beer. The bag goes everywhere with me. Right now I carry a custom classic messenger, which is nearly perfect. I love the fact that there are tons of pockets and that the bag comes on and off easily. It has just the right number of pockets to keep me organized. It goes from bike mode to bus mode to walk mode easily and quickly. It goes on and off and from desktop to tabletop to floor about fifty times a day. The bag is ridden in all sorts of weather from 110 degree heat, to snow, to rain - and ridden everyday.

When I am not in the library or on the way to and from the library, I spend a lot of time with dogs. My wife and I are expecting our first child [a boy] any day now, so whatever bag I carry gets double duty holding bottles, dog treats, snacks, and diapers as well.

I carry my life in my bag. The most important things in a bag for me are comfort and stability - I cannot have the bag shifting on me while on my back. I have tried other bags, and I always return to the Timbuk2. Some bags ride better for sure, but for an urban ninja like me the Timbuk2 has the features I need that I can't ride away from.
