Interesting. We haven't tested our plug-in on windows server 2008 before. You said there is no plus icon in the footer toolbar of your IE7.
In IE7 our icon is usually gray coloured, and when Zemanta is in action it turns orange. You don't have the plus sign at all or you just don't have the orange plus sign?

Hmm that is strange. You said you are using IE7. What version of Windows are you using?
Do you have any special IE settings like proxy server?
Could you open your IE. Go to Tools menu -> Internet Options -> Programs tab, Manage add-ons. A list of add-ons opens. Can you find "Zemanta Plugin" and the status of the plugin?

The problem is now solved. If id does not work for you try clearing cache in Internet Explorer:
- Close all Live Writer and Internet explorer instances
- Open Internet Explorer
- go to Tools --> Internet Options --> "Browsing History" segment --> Delete...
- Temporary internet files --> "Delete files"
This will only delete IE cache (saved html and java script files) and will keep your usernames, passwords, cookies and so on.

Hi!
Try downloading the latest version of our WLW plugin: http://www.zemanta.com/download/livew...
This should solve your problem.
If it does not. Are you using a proxy?
And could you please tell me the exact version of WLW and version of our plugin for WLW.
The exact version of Live Writer is in its card. You can access that if you open the Live Writer and click on Help menu.
To check the version of our plugin go:
- Start->run
- type regedit
- open the directory: My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Zemanta\LiveWriter
- check the data section of the key currVer.

Hi Martin.
This error means that Zemanta Plugin can not reach this document on our web page:
http://static.zemanta.com/plugins/liv...
Could you try to make it accessible? Problem might be if you have a proxy or an aggressive firewall.

Zone settings could be the problem. When you try to save the data in preferences we have some JavaScript that tries to execute POST.
If you have very restrictive zone settings this could be the problem.
On my development machine i have the same version of IE and Zemanta Plugin and it seems to work for me. (I have default zone settings in IE)
Could you try to set your setting to default in IE and try again? (you have to close Live Writer for the setting to apply to Zemanta Plugin)

This is very confusing to me. I have just downloaded the plugin from our web-site from different computers and I get today's time-stamp and 0.53.0 version.
I can't come up with a good explanation why this is happening. You can email me at domen.grabec(at)zemanta(dot)com and I will send you the plugin as an email attachment.

0.51.0 Zemanta Plugin timestamp: 19. sept at 16:19
0.53.0 Zemanta Plugin available for download at:
http://www.zemanta.com/download/livew...
timestamp: 26. sept at 16: 19
please check again. It might be confusing that both plugins were built at 16:19.
