If you have an unlocked phone, you'll need to enter the t-mobile sttings into your phone manually. Call customer and see if they can help. Most carriers do not support unlocked phones

All mobile phone companies do this, not just T-Mobile. if you are roaming on someone else's network, you will be charged unless your plan with your provider includes itnl roaming, which 99% do not.
