Extranet Permissions - aren't they backwards? So I'm evaluating pbwiki for an Intranet at a company. All pages are private by default.
Now I've got a project page that I want everyone in the company to have visibility into, AND I want to give access to an outside person--a client. If I choose "custom Security" then I can restrict the page view to administrators, and then add people I want to give access to. Fine. So I add all insiders in the list, and then start to add the outside person's email.
But wait a minute! if I add the outsider to the wiki, that means they'll be able to see all the other pages in my wiki, won't they? Would I have to put in "custom security" for all the pages of my wiki to do what I want? (full visibility to all page for all insiders, but only one page for an outsider)
Seems like there should be an outsiders' security selection in addition to what's there, so you can allow specific people limited access to your wiki?

Is the ultimate purpose to have intranet materials available on the wiki as well? Using the API, you can have any information posted to your wiki as long as it first converted the information into html format.
Clif's link is for the 1.0 API. If you are using PBwiki 2.0, go to Settings -> API for information on the PBwiki 2.0 API. In either case, it sounds like you want to do something like set up a cron job and update a wiki page periodically based on a specific database query.
Like Clif said, contact us at support if you have more specific questions or needs. Thanks!

Hi Stan,
I am not certain how to answer you so I'll have to ask someone here. In the mean time, please take a look at our API.

Can you also give us a few details about your DB system?
If it's sensitive information, please email us directly at:

and restate the question along with the details.

Can you integrate a Intranet DB query into a PBWiki page?I'm evaluating PBWiki as an intranet solution. We currently have a database in which we keep lots of information, including staff contact data. Is there a way to have that information render into a PBWiki page? some sort of widget or API?
