A comment on the discussion "You can't sync Notes on iPhone and Mac? and MobileMe? What??" in Apple:
You can sync notes via MobileMe. If you create a note in Mail on the Mac, even quite a long one with HTML and so on, it will sync over the air to your iPhone. The trick is to select 'create new notes on MobileMe' in the Mail preferences. The note will then be stored in MobileMe - it initially gets created in your mail inbox but you can put it in any folder, or create a new folder called 'notes'. You then view your notes within the Mail app on the iPhone, or find them with the built-in search feature. It's pretty cool, and works nicely - better than the sync using iTunes if you want to quickly create a note on the fly and be able to access it later wherever you want, including on your iPhone. – Stephen, on September 02, 2009 02:35

purchasing the new one won't make things any better - I have a friend who bought one, and they can't get it do anything either! tech support has told them that the iTunes servers are basically overloaded (and even with new phones 'activated' in store, it turns out that there's an extra activation step via iTunes). So in other words, if you buy a new one you'll maybe still have no usable phone today until their server calm down.
A comment on the problem "BRICKED! iPhone 2.0 software bricked my phone, and now I can't even restore it!" in Apple:
I just started up iTunes. It told me the phone needed to be restored to factory settings, and then it did it for me (took a while). This didn't happen first time, for some reason, so if you've already tried it then maybe try it again. – Stephen, on July 11, 2008 02:13
