This still needs a lot of work. This new calendar needs to include anniversaries, needs to allow us to setup notifications for the calendar and for individual events, and it would be great if we could also add our own events to this calendar.
What I don't understand is, why is it called "Contacts' Birthdays and events" when all it includes is birthdays?
Michael S. shared an idea in Google on October 29, 2009 16:48:
CalDAV access to birthday calendarGoogle recently added the "Contacts' Birthdays and Events" calendar. The problem is that accessing this calendar via CalDAV in iCal or Sunbird does not work. So, in iCal and Sunbird, we have no way of viewing this calendar. Please add this ability.-

Google sort of implemented this.(for details see http://getsatisfaction.com/google/top...)
Unfortunately, with no ability to add notifications for this calendar, and the fact that anniversaries don't seem to be added, I still can't use this yet.

Unfortunately, you can't setup notifications for the Contacts' birthdays and events calendar. So if I want to get an email reminder, I still have to use a regular calendar to do this. – Michael S., on July 29, 2009 16:58-

Michael S. asked a question in Songbird on February 02, 2009 22:17:
Auto Update random smart playlists? Why is 'auto update' not an option for a smart playlist that is limited and selected by 'Random'? I'm trying to create a smart playlist that I can sync to my Sansa Clip and would really like it to auto refresh at least every time I open Songbird. Is there an easy way to do this?-
