A comment on the problem "Unable to register" in HootSuite:
I responded to the email notification. Just in case I'm posting here:
I would like to send you a DM :P
Originally I had checked out Brightkit because you were looking to change your name, followed you on Twitter ... no autofollow though ... bottom line: couldn't send a DM as you're not following me.
Still wanted to try out the product though. @StevenBarley – Steven Barley, on January 16, 2009 21:08

A comment on the question "Shut down @KirtsyNews for Brand-Hijacking/Porn!!" in Twitter:
It may be worth noting that the twitter account KirtsyNews was established in January 2008 and Kirtsy in October 2008 -- Glad to see that Kirtsy.com (twitter account: Kirtsy) is joining the conversation -- just not the way they'd expect! – Steven Barley, on December 21, 2008 16:15

Actually, you can find posts that go back 117 days - 200 days: http://tinyurl.com/9pteh2 (and they are still there! A story post filter is required) – Steven Barley, on December 21, 2008 16:11

I guess the real (brand) snafu is who owns the account twitter.com/KirtsyNews vs twitter.com/Kirsty, in relation to Kirsty.com.
If the owner of twitter.com/KirstyNews is a fan, not an employee and simply set up an RSS feed to the site ... that's one thing.
If the account owner represents his or herself as Kirsty.com employee through tweets, that's another. – Steven Barley, on December 21, 2008 16:03
