With the Cinema 21:9, Philips brought a 21:9 Cinemascope format TV to the market. I think it is a great device. Finally you can watch movies in their original format without black horizontal borders. But after seeing the picture of LED backlight TVs I personally I would not buy any TV anymore that does not use LED backlight technology. The picture looks much better. Black is as black as it should be, and not grey.

Does anyone know whether Philips plans to update the TV to use LED backlight technology, and when? Did any other companies announce to build a 21:9 TV too, using that technology?

What is the interval at which my OIB feed updates? Because I often receive notifications in my RSS reader about new messages only after several hours. It checks the feed for unread messages every 30 minutes though.

Hi Hoon,

I added a screenshot of my Safari 4.0.2 settings. I translated the text, since I assume you do not speak German.

OIB brings itself to the foreground no matter how I open it. I can type in the address, hit enter and then quickly switch tabs. Or I can open it via CMD-click from the bookmarks toolbar or bookmarks menu. When it comes to the foreground I see the OIB loading screen for the fraction of a second, and then I see the loaded interface. So I guess whatever brings it to the front must happen right before loading is finished.

Each time I open OtherInbox in a window or tab in the background, it steals the focus of the currently active window. It should not do that. No web page should do that.

Please don't make me logout after an upgrade on my Mac

I've tried a lot of plugins and tools since I've switched to Mac OS X. None of them ever needed to log me out after setup. Only hardcore system updates or some driver installation needs a logout/logoff. Why does a simple browser plugin force me to logout? It interrupts all my workflows and requires me to quit every single application just to upgrade.

The way it is now looks like you come from a Windows background, don't know much about Mac programming and just want to make sure everything works 100 percent. Guys, I know you want to play it safe. But please play by one of the most obvious rules: don't let software get into the user's way. If no other application needs me to logout after an update, you also don't have to.

The way it is know, I'm sure most Mac users will delay the updates.

I had to come here to find out that I can click the logo. I didn't notice that moving my mouse above the logo changes it, because I never thought it would. This works, but it's not obvious to users. Hence, this is a good point but does not implement the idea. – Daniel, on July 13, 2009 14:49
