stomptokyo replied on June 16, 2009 00:51 to the problem "Premium disabled" in OtherInbox:
I was one of your early beta testers (username stomptokyo) and I think my premium account was comped as a result. At any rate, I'm now getting the "please upgrade" message. If I'm entitled to further free premium time that's great, otherwise I'll probably upgrade when I return home from some travel. I do love OIB!
stomptokyo asked a question in MailChimp on April 21, 2009 19:42:
Do autoresponders based on sign-up only work for new list members? So I understand that sending auto-responder emails to existing customers NOT based on signup date is an undesirable thing. What I'm not clear on is how Mailchimp decides which customers are and are not eligible to receive autoresponders.
I created a "send a message 1 week after signup" autoresponder at 5pm today. Now at 10 pm ET, well after the autoresponder send time (roughly 8:30 pm ET), there have been no messages sent. What I can't figure out is:
- were there no messages sent because I created the autoresponder too close to the send time? (In retrospect, I think this may have been because the autoresponder was paused. I don't recall pausing it, but I clicked "start" again and the campaign statistic N/As turned into 0s.)
- were there no eligible recipients? why?
- are only those people who join AFTER I create the autoresponder eligible to receive it after being on board for 1 week? does that mean my first autoresponder campaigns won't go out until a week from now?
- Mailchimp initially asked me to set a segment of my list to receive the autoresponder, but now I can't find mention of that segment or see any way to edit it if that segment filter is still in force.
Some clarity around how Mailchimp determines who receives autoresponder messages would be appreciated.
Thanks! - Chris

One way to get closer to this goal would be to teach Sandy to intepret invitation emails from Gcal. One could create an event in a Gcal and invite Sandy as a participant. Sandy would accept the invitation and put it on your Sandy calendar. If you update the event, a new invitation can be sent out, and Sandy could update the event on "her" end. (Gcal already does this as a method of scheduling resources and rooms.)
The meeting would show up twice on your Gcal (once on the original calendar, and once in the Sandy feed), but at least it would work for updating Sandy on events that originate in Gcal.-

stomptokyo replied on January 31, 2008 15:17 to the idea "How to synchronize Sandy with google calendar/gmail or Thunderbird/lightning" in I want Sandy:
The killer feature here would be two-way sync. Here's what happens in my world:
1. I send Sandy an email (or these days, a tweet) to schedule an appointment.
2. The appointment shows up on my Google calendar, since I'm subscribed to the iCal feed.
3. I notice that the appointment conflicts with something else on my Google calendar (something that originated from outside of Sandy), so I want to change the Sandy appointment.
4. I go back to the Sandy website to change the appointment, or if I'm feeling brave, I'll use the "update" command. I don't quite have the hang of using update just yet.
In an ideal world #4 would read: "I make the changes right there on the Google calendar view and they get synced back to Sandy."
I'm sure there are all kinds of problems with this right now but I'm hopeful that it will be sorted out eventually. GCal is the office standard here, so as much as I like Sandy it needs to work with GCal. So far it works sufficiently well, but not as well as I'd like.
Thanks!
