A comment on the idea "Now playing icon in every view" in Songbird:
Your mockup manages to show the kind of thing I was trying to describe quite well. I'd like to think of the speaker icon acting as a trail of breadcrumbs that could take you back to what's playing :P – stoot, on December 01, 2009 12:12

This is also a good idea, it'd be nice to see both find a home in Songbird. – stoot, on December 01, 2009 12:10

Now playing icon in every viewIf I select an artist, then an album, then play a track I would like Songbird to highlight the currently playing artist, album etc in the filter pane. At the moment it seems that only the song itself is highlighted with an icon?
I think that having this feature would make it easier to navigate around the library and make songbird more usable on the whole.
I'm surprised this functionality doesn't exist by default. If it does, can someone help me by pointing me in the right direction. Thanks.-

6 months and still nothing?
Spotify has a massive community built around sharing playlists yet this simple (I think. It can't be as hard as some other features can it?) wish is still waiting to see fruition. :( – stoot, on October 09, 2009 11:16

Personally I feel the £10 a month is too high (that's another argument) but would consider signing up for a whole year if there was a discount.
As the original poster suggested, a couple months 'free' would be a welcome incentive to pay up front for a whole year. If such an incentive was in place this would effectively bring the monthly subscription down to just above £8 which might be closer to what people would consider paying?-

Now Playing Icon Sticks With TrackI'd like it if the now playing icon which appears next to a track would always show next to the track even if I'm in a different search or playlist. At the moment it seems to only show next to the track that in the page that it was started from?

stoot asked a question in Spotify on September 09, 2009 21:02:
What memory does Spotify's Android app use?Hi folks,
Could anyone using Spotify on Android clear up something for me? Can Spotify use the external memory on Android devices?
I'm wondering if I'll be limited by the internal memory on any Android phone I eventually settle on purchasing. This would be a killer for Spotify as most of the devices I'm aware of seem to have fairly low internal memory, choosing instead to rely on expandable memory.
I'm hoping that Spotify can actually use any external memory on the Android handset but thought I'd ask here and check.
Cheers guys.
A comment on the question "Premium - Too Expensive" in Spotify:
But it doesn't give me access to all the tracks whenever I want. A significant part of my music listening happens on my commute to work. No Spotify for me there?
I'd love to see some form of roadmap which sets out their targets so I could see -roughly- when I'd benefit from things like an iPhone/Android app, Squeezebox streaming etc as a Premium user.
At the moment I'm very satisfied with the free service and intend to continue using it until such point that the Spotify catalogue contains a greater majority of 'my' music (I still have to return to my local library for a significant amount of major bands and albums) or the Premium service offers enough benefits. Aside from being ad free and higher quality (I can tolerate the ads and quality of the free service and save myself £9.99 a month) the only other benefit of Premium that I can see at the moment is the VIP part which does not appeal to me in the slightest. – stoot, on June 27, 2009 14:56
