Improve the 404 error page when a person is not found
One thing I find useful on brightkite is the page that is displayed when a person is not found. For example: http://brightkite.com/people/bootsyco...

It links to Twitter, which is nice when an @username is mentioned in a message. Like Shizzow, it links to the profile page for that person on its own site, even if that person does not exist. Because of Shizzow's Twitter integration, I sometimes mention a Twitter @username in my shout, but that person might not have a Shizzow account (yet). E.g., https://www.shizzow.com/people/bootsy... (yes, I know that @bootsy is already on Shizzow!)

Anyway, I like that brightkite makes it easy to click over to Twitter, since that is always the next place I check for that person. The link to invite the person to their service is a good idea, though I would actually make it more prominent to encourage invitations.

    Hope this suggestion is helpful...

    P.S. Y'all are crazy!

This would also be good for planning events/meetups/coworking. For example, if I'm planning on working from Tiny's Coffee on June 14 from 1pm - 4pm, I could put in a future shout for 1pm with the message "I'll be working here in the afternoon. Feel free to join!" Others could add future shouts to indicate that they will be there too. Being able to specify an end time would be great, but one step at a time. :)

I realize this is getting into calendering type functionality, but I was watching Ryan's Strange Love Live interview from WebVisions and it sounded like this sort of ability was part of the motivation for creating Shizzow (as an alternative to something like a shared Google Calendar). I know that I've often wanted something like this to gauge interest in various events and outings. Since Shizzow is all about face-to-face interactions, it seems like it would be a perfect complement to the current functionality.

Not receiving Jabber notifications (Googletalk ID in iChat)
After setting my notification preferences, I added shout@shizzow.com as a contact to my Jabber contacts, but it just shows up as an offline contact with the message, "Waiting for Authorization". I have not received any IM notifications (email notifications worked fine when I tried that). I'm using my Googletalk account in iChat on Mac OS X 10.4.11.
