It would be so useful and convenient to be able to tell people "Just twitter me" and have them send a direct message. For example if my site goes down it would be cool to have a way for someone to send a 140 character message to my twitter notification without them having to go through a big setup and registration process to be allowed to follow me before they can send one.

Perhaps a way to allow direct messages from anyone and I get to choose who to block and what not. Then if they use it and end up liking twitter they can finalize their account after.
