Screen flickering.

I have the latest VIP build of BumpTop. Every now and then, the screen will flicker between BumpTop and the regular desktop. Also, my recycle bin is not showing up in BT.

Windows 7 Professional 32 bit
Core 2 Duo T8300 2.4Ghz
4GB Shared Dual Channel RAM @ 667Mhz
Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT 256MB

VIP Build 3527 Duplicating icons on desktop within BumpTop.

Since updating to the latest VIP build, BumpTop has started to duplicate and not show some icons. When attempting to delete a duplicate icon, I get a warning about deleting the desktop folder. In order to remove the dupe or to show missing icons, BumpTop has to be restarted.

Im on Windows 7 x64.

I especially like the networking of multiple machines running BumpTop idea. That would make things soooo much easier.

Want to send a file to another PC? Throw it through the window, which initiates a transfer to that PCs desktop.

Deleting the settings.json and scene.bump fixed the problem

I upgraded to the Win 7 RC last night and BumpTop was working fine. I restarted my laptop this morning and I get this every time I attempt to start BumpTop.

It's my understanding that the BT staff push updates as soon as they're ready, so there's no reason to force an update.

If you really, really want to force an update, restart BumptTop.

A comment on the idea "Bump Top should have advanced physics options, and bring back some of the features that were in the prototype." in BumpTop:

No one had the prototype. The prototype wasnt even a program, it was more of just a video made by Anand and was a basis for the program.

BumpTop seems to run really slow or just lock up completely, sometimes causing Explorer to crash. Here's my specs:

Windows 7 Ultimate Beta
Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz 800mhz FSB
4GB Shared dual channel DDR2 RAM 667Mhz
GeForce 8600M GT 256MB

BumpTop Pro v.2646 (Release) - VIP Version
GeForce 8600M GT/PCI/SSE2

The only way to remedy this so far is to kill off BumpTop from the task manager before it causes Windows Explorer to lock up also.

I had the same problem but I fixed it. Here's what I did:

Exit Bumptop
Open Control Panel, Personalization and click Change Desktop Icons.
Uncheck Recycle Bin, hit Apply, check it again, Apply
Load BumpTop

Recycle Bin icon should drop in after BumpTop is fully loaded.

Just wondering if beta testers are going to get an upgrade to the Pro version for free or not. Ive been playing around with the Authorize function and it doesnt seem to do anything.

Ive been around for a majority of the BumpTop beta testing and have always submitted reports when something goes wrong. I feel that a "complimentary" copy would be a nice thank you to those who have beta tested.

I agree, I like it also. Runs much better on 7 than it does on Vista.

Drives me up the wall, honestly. It also bugs out if you have a large number of files in a folder. The grid slowly slides off screen until it's gone. BumpTop has to be restarted in order for the folder to return.

Also, takes too much effort to return it back to a folder. Close the grid, folderize, move the folder back where it was. I do like how if the folder was on the wall, it jumps back up there.

General BumpTop slowdown since update

Ever since BumpTop has upgraded to the latest VIP build of Beta 17, BumpTop has been really sluggish and in turn, slowing down other parts of my system.

C2D 2.4Ghz 800Mhz FSB
4GB Shared DDR2 RAM 667Mhz
GeForce 8600M GT 256MB
320GB HD

There's my specs. It's on a Dell Inspiron 1720 with Vista Home Premium. Slowdown even happens in High Performance mode.

I only get this problem when I try to open the Settings dialog from the pie menu. Opening it from the system tray works fine.
