    Hi Cole

Ben Bleything's patch worked superbly which is what I used to adapt to my specific needs.. unfortunately I have not used it with more than one arduino or with Maxduino. As Tod has suggested it should work by hooking one to Maxduino and the other to Firmata and then build on it from there .. depending on what your intentions are. Let us know how you get on.

    Hi Tod

Thanks for that- I have now worked it out by completely bypassing the swatch and fader part of Ben's patch and patched direct to the serial port using messages and prepend. It needs some tidying up .. but at least my color buttons are now changing the color of BlinkM respectively. It is quite superb!

I will post a video of my finished installation in a few weeks as it is nearly there!

    Hello again

I have been trying to us the BlinkM with Arduino and Max and Ben's Max patch on its own works fine. What I want to do is extend the patch so that I have different color buttons which cause the swatch to jump to the color of the button and also cause the BlinkM to change to the corresponding button color. I have worked out the RGB value of each button and connected these values to the buttons within the patch but the BlinkM does not move to the new color. It only seems to recognise color changes when the mouse is moving over the swatch or with a dial whihc I have attached, but it won't recognise the RGB values of the buttons which are now connected to the swatch. Can anybody help with this or suggest possible solutions.

    Cheers

    Hi Ben

Thanks for the info. I have read the thread and I am not sure whether it is the firmware because the firmware was the november update. However you had me thinking so I have played around with the sequencer and basically uploaded a blank sequence so now when I select the colour on the Max patch swatch it doesn.t flit back to the default colour sequence. The only thing now is I have to try and slow the blinking down so I will need to look at the coding for this I expect in the communicator file.

I am going to try and adapt the Max patch so incorporate a graphic tablet so that I can draw through the colour swatch.

    Regards

    Hi
I have used the Max patch on Ben's website and have uploaded the BlinkMCommunicator onto the Arduino, the BlinkM was then in normal position. When i adjust the colours using the sliders and swatch box in the Max patch BlinkM lights as per the selected colour, however if I do not continuously move the mouse over the swatch it starts to go through the default/normal routine on BlinkM. l have to continously move the mouse onto another colour, it does not remain for example the colour that the mouse hovers over. How can I set it so that it basically just represents the colours in the swatch and not keep flipping to the default colour cycles when paused for a second or so.

    Many thanks
