The same thing happens to me on the device setup page. I enter my number and it's like it's swallowed into the Twitter void.

I however, am NOT getting twitter updates at all. Not even a code to txt back to Twitter to validate my number. When I mistakenly put in +44 and my 10 digit number I was getting a code. Even sending that didn't do me any good. But that's the wrong country code anyway. – SVallie, on October 24, 2008 22:32

So I should text any code to 40404 instead of the long number?

Got a new TMobile G1 phone, but all Twits going to 40404 aren't getting thru. Tmobile blamed Twitter and hung up.

I have used the long number and the 40404 number and I've neither heard back from Twitter nor have my SMS's gone thru. My boyfriend, who has a g1 phone, has had no issue. I'm now officially confused/mad/upset. Help?
