sweidre replied on November 07, 2009 20:42 to the question "dublin theme" in Flock:
Hi alterego,
Thanks for the link for the Dublin 2.1 theme! It worked fine for Flock 2.5.5! Much a better look than the Default 2.5.5! Even the icons looked better. There was a hick-up though for me, because I have many extra icons placed on the Navigation bar and a few fell out of screen! I tried to reduce the lengths of the address & search fields, but I could not! The other bars are full with icons already; of course I can add another bar for the icons out of sight, but for the moment I find it stupid to open another bar for only 4 icons. I do not like to have too many tool-bars open, because every extra toolbar reduces the the screen space vertically! So I have now gone back to the default theme, but if I have to reorganize my tool-bars and icons one day, I will bear the Dublin theme in mind! Anyhow, thanks!
Cheers,
sweidre

Installing Flock 2.5.5 ??For the moment I have Flock 2.5.2. (& Win XP Home)
Flock v.2.5.5 is available at CNET & at FileHippo for downloading.
Questions:
1.) Can v.2.5.5 be installed right over v.2.5.2 ?
2.) Should v.2.5.2 be uninstalled prior to installing v.2.5.5 ? Can settings be saved in a file ?
3.) Should I wait with upgrading until v.2.5.5 is available at www.flock.com ?
4.) Should I wait for another future version ?

when I will post a site review to www.trustpilot.com
I am not getting this error, when I am using CometBird 3.5.1!

Hi Brando212,
Go to the site: http://www.imageshack.us/ and click on the option "tools". From the list received click on "ImageShack Toolbar" and it will be placed as a toolbar in Flock.

Hi hunt0h,
There is a Firefox' extension: "StumbleUpon", that can be downloaded from
https://addons.mozilla.org/
StumbleUpon installed will then be placed in Flock as a toolbar below the other toolbars but above the tabs.

sweidre reported a problem in Flock on July 21, 2009 19:54:
Flock needs a Safety/Security Update Patch!Tue 21 July 2009 at 22:01 PM (GMT+1 hour)
For the moment Flock 2.5 is based upon rv : 1.9.0.10 Gecko/2009051221 and in par with Firefox/3.0.10
Flock needs urgently a safety/security update patch, because Flock is now lagging behind Firefox 3.5.1, that is based upon rv :1.9.1.1 Gecko/20090718
CometBird (also Gecko-based) has now immediately issued version 3.5.1 in par with Firefox 3.5.1!
For a browser safety/security is the most important thing! Social features (Twitter, Facebook etc) are only nice to have!
I suggest now, that the staff of Flock lays the development of social features aside for a while and concentrate upon the development of a new safety/security patch for Flock (in par with Firefox 3.5.1)!
Cheers!

PS. The staff of Flock must always act proactively regarding safety/security and not lag behind other browsers! DS.-

Hi daemon,
Search for "Click&Clean" (without "-signs,spaces,or 3.0)! It works for all versions. Remember thoug, that you must have Ccleaner (freeware) installed on your harddisk for Click&Clean to work! Ccleaner is found at http://www.ccleaner.com/

sweidre replied on June 05, 2009 01:42 to the problem "my computer is consistanly saying low virtual memory" in Flock:
Hi Leianna,
I do not know why Flock is consuming so much virtual memory for you!
Normally Windows is automatically setting the virtual memory, but you can set it up manually also:
I have a Swedish Operating System, but I will hereby translate into English as good as I can:
Start -> Control Panel -> System ->Advanced ->Performance -> Press button "Settings" -> Advanced -> Virtual Memory -> Press button "Change"
You will now get a window showing all your drives:
Before doing anything here, make a note of the settings, so you can change it back, if needed!
Highlight a fixed drive (not a drive attached to a USB port)
Fill in Original Size in MB:
Fill in Maximal Size in MB:
Press the button "Activate"
You will now be requested to reboot your computer!
Note: If you have many fixed drives, you can split the virtual memory on several fixed drives and fill in Original Size & Maximal Size for each highlighted one, prior to pressing the button "Activate". If you have many fixed drives, it is an advantage to avoid placing any virtual memory on your system drive (normally: C :\).

How do I open the file "places.sqlite" for editing, rearranging, adding & deleting bookmarks regarding the bookmarks themselves and their grouping into folders, sub-folders etc.?? (As I can do with the Favorites in IE)

Creation of a SlimFlock ??Thu 4 June 2009 at 08:46 AM (GMT+1 hour)
Is it possible one day to create a simpler Flock (=SlimFlock) ? It seems, that Flock today has too many features, so that the number of problems and questions are increasing every day. The problems are mainly located to the Favorites and to the functions of the Sidebar (Accounts & Services, Feeds, People etc.)
A SlimFlock should then only be a pure, but extremely secure and fast browser with IE Favorites and with suitable extensions from Firefox. A list of Firefox' extensions, that work for SlimFlock to 100%, should be provided (in order to avoid today's trial and error). No confusing Lucene folder or Error Console.

sweidre
