We have fixed the certificate issue and we assure you that we are taking measures to insure that this does not occur again.
We know that your relationship with myVidoop is built on trust and want to be sure to reassure you that we take extreme measures to secure your personal data.
In fact, the errors you experienced today were only because we refuse to transmit any data without 128-bit encrytion between your browser and our server.
Your information is guarded both algorithmically and physically in our data servers. For more details about the methods that we use to encrypt any data that is passed back to myVidoop, check our other topic: here

Sam Alexander replied on January 29, 2009 23:59 to the question "twitterfeed problem" in Vidoop:
To sign in to twitterfeed (or any OpenID enabled site):
1. Enter your myvidoop OpenID at twitterfeed, which will be "username.myvidoop.com",
2. If you are already signed in to myVidoop, and you have checked the "Remember my settings when signing into twitterfeed" box on the signin page, you will automatically be signed in to twitterfeed
3. Otherwise, sign in to myVidoop, choose "Remember my settings when signing into twitterfeed" on the OpenID Signin page and you will be signed in.
Remember, you can use your myVidoop OpenID anywhere you see a mention of OpenID to skip having to create a new account.

Sam Alexander replied on January 29, 2009 18:09 to the question "Why is this so friggin' complicated?" in Vidoop:
We're sorry you're feeling frustrated and confused. Twitterfeed uses OpenID, which is a new way to sign in that prevents you from having to create a new username/password at every site.
Using OpenID for the first time can be a bit difficult, because it is a completely different way of signing in/up. Instead of creating a username or password at Twitterfeed, you create (or use an existing) OpenID and Twitterfeed just verifies the Identity. You can think of it as a Drivers License or Identification Card. In most cases, you register to get your drivers license at the DMV, but once you have it, you can use it to verify your identity anywhere, without having to prove your date of birth or place of residence all over again.
Its a powerful new concept, but the hard part is getting through your first use. Once you have an OpenID, you never really need to register for a new one.
Twitterfeed has chosen myVidoop as its suggested OpenID provider because of the security that we offer to users for free.
We're more than happy to help introduce you to our secure OpenID provider and to OpenID. Check out these screencast videos for detailed help:

Sam Alexander replied on January 29, 2009 17:37 to the question "How to confirm (or get rid of the message) by text when non-US?" in Vidoop:
Hi nicofars,
Thats a good point. Unfortunately, we have to play somewhat of a guessing game when trying to decide where our users are located. There are multiple places where I can specify either a postal code, timezone or address (or multiples of each) and it's a roll of the dice to determine which is the address that I am at right now.
Once we are able to more accurately and reliably know location, this would make alot of sense. In the meantime, we'll look into how and when our "helpful" suggestions may become "unhelpful" and how we can improve upon them.
Thanks for the feedback!
Sam Alexander replied on January 01, 2009 18:57 to the problem "Sites tab lost the the passwords from the sites tab I created. Just disappeared one day." in Vidoop:
Hi Alvin,
I'm so sorry you are having issues with the plugin. We released an updated version of the plugin recently to increase performance and stability when viewing your passwords on the sites tab. It looks like that new version is what has caused your error.
I assure you will get this fixed and update the plugin.
Sam Alexander replied on December 19, 2008 19:19 to the question ""Warning: Unresponsive script" error on Firefox, and slow down/freezes Firefox" in Vidoop:
Hi nicofars,
It sounds like the problem is just that you have a large amount of passwords and the javascript on the page is having a tough time handling them all at the same time.
It's a delicate usability balance allowing access to as many passwords as possible, while still having that page be scannable. But it looks like you've surpassed that point of unwieldiness! Splitting the passwords page up into multiple pages is now bumped up higher on our todo list. You can look for that update in one of our next few updates.

Sam Alexander replied on October 15, 2008 21:33 to the question "video" in Vidoop:
Thanks for your kind words!
We would love to make videos to help explain the nuances and complexities of the United States bureaucratic system, judicial code and legislature. Certainly, knowledge is the most powerful weapon any of us could wield to combat the fear, uncertainty and doubt of our current political and economic climate.
Unfortunately, we don't currently have any plans to produce more videos on those topics. We are very focused on making the best, easiest and most secure password manager on the Internet. If we succeed, maybe we'll give people the extra mind capacity and time to learn to understand some of this stuff.
We can hope.

Sam Alexander started following the question "Now that GSFN supports OpenID, will GSFN also support EAUT? :-D" in Get Satisfaction.
Sam Alexander replied on October 06, 2008 17:21 to the question "How dose this work ?" in Vidoop:
Ro11z,
Yes. Email to ID is a new OpenID standard that we have helped to write and implement. Unfortunately, not everyone supports it yet.
We are working to convince sites like identi.ca and getsatisfaction to adopt the new standard. Hopefully, everyone who supports OpenID today will support EAUT as well.
In the meantime, continue to let your desire to use an email address rather than an URL be known. There are very few things as persuasive as hearing a feature request directly from the user who wants it.
We'll be doing our part to increase adoption, too.
You can follow the feature request for GetSatisfaction here.
Sam Alexander replied on October 06, 2008 16:33 to the question "How dose this work ?" in Vidoop:
Sorry, Ro11z. I think I misunderstood what you were trying to accomplish. It is certainly possible to use your email as an OpenID on websites who support this feature of OpenID.
To set this up:
- visit emailtoid.com
- enter your OpenID
- choose the email address you'd like to use in place of your OpenID
- confirm this choice on emailtoid.com, and you're done!
After this, you can enter your email address on sites like Magnolia or any other site that supports EAUT. They will check emailtoid.com for an associated OpenID, and complete the normal sign-in process.
No more Stupid URLs. :)
