SXFoxstar shared an idea in Brightkite on July 07, 2009 13:54:
Post to Twitter and Facebook without allowing everyone to see your posts on Bright KiteI recently joined Bright Kite as I was waiting for Google Latitude to come to the UK on iPhone but got fed up of waiting but was pleasantly surprised to find BK had everything I wanted and have since recommended it to all of my friends.
I do however have one suggestion to improve the service:
I wanted to be able to post to Facebook and Twitter but discovered that the only way to do this was to allow 'Everyone else' to view my location (although I have it at city not exact). This still makes me a little concerned as theives would still be able to find out when i am home or not.
Is there anyway you can develop settings to hide from everyone else but allow updates to Facebook and Twitter. e.g. I have set it up so the post goes to Twitter but without any location info which is exactly what I want however by having to allow everyone else to see my city, anyone finding my profile via google, or bright kite members can see which city I am in. Also it would be nice to be able to post to facebook again without telling the word where I am.
I hope changes like this can be implemented as I know privacy is an issue many people are apprehensive about locational networking, but keep up the good work, the service is brilliant!
