A comment on the problem "Scrolling with touch pad is too fast with Chrome" in Google:
Thanks Neil. Look forward to the squishing progress. – Symbo, on September 09, 2008 19:49
Symbo reported a problem in Google on September 07, 2008 03:34:
Scrolling with touch pad is too fast with ChromeDon't know if this affects a standard mouse but scrolling with the touch pad on my Vaio is far too fast.
It's so uncontrollable I have now resorted to scrolling with the side bar, how 1980's is that.
Accepting this one problem Chrome is good. I like the stripped down design intent and it's noticeably faster than FF3.
Device manager lists the touch pad as Alps Electric.
I hope GOOG can give us an update quickly that will resolve this issue although it is kind of hard to believe it wasn't noticed before release.
When I google it, plenty seem to experience the touch pad only scrolling in one direction, down not up. I haven't experienced this but the too fast issue is also mentioned.

I have to admit I was surprised to see no integration of Notebook/Google Bookmarks in Chrome although I understand the stripped down design intent.
Using Chrome since release I have found it necessary to fire up FF3 to get a bookmark that the Omnibar could not supply on a couple of occasions.
Now that the URL is in Chrome the Omnibar finds it for the next use.
Ultimately the Omnibar will have all my bookmarks without me having to bookmark them. This may not work for everyone but I'm finding it suits my usage patterns.
That leaves me with Google Notebook. I can use it but the FF extension makes clipping content simpler.
So far so good with Chrome. The only possible deal breaker for me is no Feedly. This is now my preferred feed reader and going back to Google Reader, it just seems so flat.
At the moment I'm using Chrome for browsing and firing up FF3 when I want to read my feeds in Feedly.-

Good luck with the visibility into their extensibility roadmap thing.
Once again, Feedly is a great tool and thanks for the prompt response. – Symbo, on September 04, 2008 21:43
