im actually using 1.5.0a at the moment with foldersync (although, i had to hack folder sync's "max version" in order to run on that).. I think i ended up here because of that actually.. I probably shouldn't mentioned MTP cause the way my phone presents itself is as a boring standard mass storage device and it'd be great for songbird to be able to sync directly to any folder as part of its core functionality
As for the meta data, i have no idea how the phone actually deals with its thumbnails really, all i know is that on the sdcard theres a "albumthumbs" directory with file names like 1256994555047 (no extension), but i have no idea how its relating an mp3 file to its image.

songbird and android (htc hero in my case)Hi all,
i've been trying to find a decent piece of software to create playlists and sync them to my htc hero (so i can replace my phone + ipod touch combo with a single device mostly). Using folder sync works reasonably ok (i completely erased my sdcard the first time i used it, ARG). Foldersync also doesnt deal with album art. I know under windows songbird supposedly has mtp support, but are there any linux options (aside from folder sync)?
The hero (and imagine alot of other android devices) would greatly benefit from being able to sync playlists directly to the phone straight from songbird, and there is very little out there that actually does it. Songbird seems to have alot of the frame work to actually be able to do this quite well. All it really requires is to sync playlists (pls/m3u/etc) and mp3's into a single directory on the phone, and then put album art into another location (actually just being able to say "please sync to this directory" would be good enough - as foldersync works).
To be honest, I really like songbird and have from the beginning. Been so keen to junk itunes in favour of it.
