A comment on the problem "M4P Protected files play 'silently' after update to 1.2" in Songbird:
D: I turned on my computer this morning, went to play "Hotel Song" by Regina Spektor, and it plays silently again! Seems like the Quicktime fix is only temporary?
Edit: And once again, a "Repair" fixes it. This is very, very odd. – Tatsuyame, on June 26, 2009 15:27-

Actually, I did a "Repair" and it fixed it (from the Quicktime.msi installer though, I'm not sure if that had an impact or not). Also, just a note, the .exe's Apple distributes are archives with separate .msi's. So if you ever need iTunes, you can just use the iTunes.msi, so you don't get the bonjour/update/etc that's packaged with it.
Also, @Laura:
Vista SP2. Songbird 1.2.0, latest stable Quicktime Playback extension (although I tried a nightly, which used to solve it for me, and still had silent playback.) Newest stable Quicktime&iTunes release. – Tatsuyame, on June 26, 2009 00:59

I've also been suffering from this issue on and off with Songbird since I started using it ~a year ago. 1.0> it got a lot better, but now, it's broken again. :( I really wish I had the cash to pay iTunes (ugh I'm so tired of forking over money to Apple) to upgrade all my music to 'Plus.' Then I can get rid of iTunes for once and for all!
Back on topic...yeah, I'm having the issue too.
A comment on the problem ""Theme" ghost tab appearing in Addon section of Options" in Songbird:
Yeah, those themes really threw me off. I just checked in my profile folder, and they're all in there...I think I might have tried merging profiles at one point; I really have no idea, the date on the files say sometime in August of 08, and I can't remember a thing from that time. :P – Tatsuyame, on April 14, 2009 15:09

Tatsuyame reported a problem in Songbird on April 14, 2009 11:38:
"Theme" ghost tab appearing in Addon section of OptionsAs I was using the arrow keys to navigate the options window, I noticed something odd. In the Addon section of the options window, along with Extensions and Updates, there is a hidden Theme tab, that is normal I believe in Mozilla based apps (at least in Firefox and Thunderbird it is.) This is hidden, but still accessible.
The strangest part is that there are themes that I installed in Firefox 2.x a long long long time ago, and that I had uninstalled long before I ever installed Songbird.
So I guess this was a 2 part thing:
1. Themes tab is still accessible
2. Does Songbird import old Firefox profiles or something?
