Tazz reported a problem in BumpTop on October 12, 2008 21:05:
Transperency issuesI am using cFos Speed for traffic shaping.
I am using the liquid tranparent skin to display my current traffic rates.
The problem is when this skin is on top of any windows and then I switched to desktop (bumptop) the skin take the background of the last open window. Quite difficult to explain for me so I made some screenshots.
Now when I drag the skin the background remains:
Looks like bumptop don't refresh the part of the desktop where this small transparent application has been placed.
Something cross my mine. I also got an messenger which allows me to increase the transparency of the chat window. I discovered the same problem with that.
Hope you have enough information to fix this.
I am using Windows XP Pro + SP3-

Okay, thanks. The most important thing is that you are aware of this problem. – Tazz, on September 25, 2008 23:43

When you have set up a password for you windows user account you just have to press the Windows logo key on your keyboard and the letter L (for Lock). If you don't have set up a password you can easily login again without entering a password.

Tazz marked one of Winson's replies in BumpTop as useful. Winson replied to the problem "The selected pile is not highlighted (new in Beta12)". Tazz and 2 other people think it's one of the best replies.

Can now reproduce it very often. Just fan out like I do and every 2nd or 3rd try will work. Got 5 new screenshots of that. But also on launch when some icons are not loaded and still black its much more easier to reproduce... So the working of the computer could be one reason. Don't know how to record the desktop activities elsewhere I could film my actions. – Tazz, on September 04, 2008 13:10

Looks like it still exist. On very short fan outs the red X will not appear... same as before.
Also on some other quick fan outs

I guess on following fan out some windows appears and has stopped the fan out. Difficult to reproduce but will try:

Reproduced it by just fan out like this an even left click as you should:

Hmmm and again... guess it should be enough to show that's still possible:

Also when you fan out to the left wall the red X will covered by the wall:

But all in all it wasn't as easy as before to get no red X.

Let me yarn even more...
Okay let's say we got a nice 3D shelf somewhere on the wall....
Now let's make 3D objects (icons) for the Email Outbox the Printer and if you plug in a digital camera via USB to the pc a 3D camera (icon) should appear on the shelf. This 3D camera (icon) should give you access to the USB-drive of that camera. Furthermore when you click on that camera symbol you should start the picture slide show based on the pictures saved on the USB-drive.
Also we could have a bluetooth icon. When you drag files on them a the bluetooth-file-transfer window should appear, like the windows context menu option, "send to -> bluetooth device"
Same should work for an ipod or more general a normal mp3-player icon. All could be places on that shelf. It's great because you know all the time where to find theses things... namely on the self =D

3D shelf for piles & Scotch® tapeWhen you try to pin a pile to the wall it should create a 3D shelf where you can place this pile on
Maybe some eye candy gimmick for the future... more realistic than a fixing pin for many icons ;-)
Also changing the fixing pin to adhesive tape (Scotch® tape) would be nice
