Tech Snaps replied on March 29, 2009 03:21 to the problem "Why is Twitterfeed pulling old posts from my RSS feed?" in twitterfeed:
This has happened to feeds run by one of my companies and has become extremely embarrassing as old headlines have repost to Twitter (and the press sees this; they watch our feed). I checked the RSS feeds that the articles came from and the pubdates are still old (late last year in fact). Doesn't Twitterfeed check pubdates if articles have posted before? What would cause this? In my case, five tweets went out in quick succession from five different feeds monitored by Twitterfeed. I checked all of them... none have been changed in any way recently. I had to delete the tweets from the company profile to prevent public confusion but I am attaching a screenshot of the tweets with dates shown.

I think you should put it out in a targeted survey and get some commitments. I guarantee there are some companies which will toss their credit cards at you if you offer this service. I know my company would definitely foot a nominal yearly charge. It's really a nail biter when we have to wait 30 mins for a headline to go out. I might as well go to the fax machine and send the news to press agencies that way... would be faster and more predictable. Just sayin...

How can this be achieved if a site is not running WordPress? I have one very large project where we have IntenseDebate outputting comments in specific category articles (Joomla). Of course, these are not searchable because they're generated on the page via javascript. Are truly embedded comments even possible outside of the javascript method if we're on a different content platform? The SEO possibilities are too large to ignore. In our case it would help tremendously with CRM efforts.-

Tech Snaps replied on January 19, 2009 06:17 to the question "Comments not approving (no UI feedback)" in IntenseDebate:
I like the "Apply changes" idea. People may think differently but when I saw "Bulk Moderate" I thought this was a separate function for lists with more than one comment so I didn't think it applied to single posts. My first impression was that it would take me to a page to handle large lists of comments.

This sounds appropriate if clicking the radio button for Approve does not produce a visual response – Tech Snaps, on January 19, 2009 06:14
Tech Snaps replied on January 15, 2009 19:12 to the question "Where is it? Logged in to my account... where's the iphone interface?" in Ten Seven, Interactive:
Okay watched the screencast (figured out that's the only way to know how to get this working on the iPhone). However, after adding it to iGoogle via the + button on the top of Periscope's page (logged in also) I visit my same iGoogle site on the iPhone and the gadget is not there as an option. Clues?

Where is it? Logged in to my account... where's the iphone interface?Where is it? Logged in to my account. I can see where to edit my settings... so where's the iphone interface? it loads the account information for your site on the device and clicking on the project takes me to the actual basecamp project site. is there a different link that I'm not seeing? Is the site supposed to detect my useragent and redirect me?

A comment on the question "Comments not approving (no UI feedback)" in IntenseDebate:
This was on the dashboard on the ID site. There was only one comment so naturally I clicked the "Approve" label next to the radio button which made it active but there was no UI feedback saying anything happened so I assumed the form wanted more input. I then clicked the "Mark all selected as: Approved" at the bottom which didn't do anything. After a while of clicking around in different platforms and browsers what worked was clicking "Approve" next to the item radio button then clicking Bulk Moderate a few times which somehow loaded the item as approved. Hopefully it was just a one-time glitch in the system or maybe it can be explained that Bulk Moderate is really the "Save Changes" action. Maybe I was just a bit confused with the language. – Tech Snaps, on January 14, 2009 17:43
Tech Snaps asked a question in IntenseDebate on January 14, 2009 00:53:
Comments not approving (no UI feedback)I'm moderating a newly installed IntenseDebate site. First comment has rolled in and I go to the Dashboard to approve. Click-click-click is something supposed to tell me that it's working? I've tried on Windows Firefox, Safari on Mac, Internet Explorer 7 on Windows. The comment never gets approved. Are there server issues today?
A comment on the question "Joomla and intense debate" in IntenseDebate:
The issue that comes up is that IntenseDebate comments (the form and comment list) should only appear in articles within specific categories. You wouldn't want comments to be enabled on everything (FAQ and static articles)... likely you would want to enable comments only in articles from categories that are news/blog-related. Solutions? – Tech Snaps, on January 08, 2009 22:13
Tech Snaps replied on January 05, 2009 23:04 to the question "twitterfeed reposting repeatedly" in twitterfeed:
Thanks Mario. The twitter account is http://twitter.com/portofsandiego (notice two of the top three stories from mavrev.com are actually old stories posted to twitter last month). Hope this sheds some light on the situation. Thanks in advance!
Tech Snaps replied on January 05, 2009 17:34 to the question "twitterfeed reposting repeatedly" in twitterfeed:
I'm having a similar problem. Twitterfeed is reposting older stories from our Feedburner feed as new Twitter posts. We checked feedburner.com and the RSS feed doesn't show any change to the pubdate so we're baffled why this is happening. I don't know if this is related but all the odd, reposted dupes used the mavrev.com shortener instead of our chosen bit.ly

Time zone supportTime zone support which can be changed from the "Edit Profile" area. This would reflect in all reports and data submissions
