Teddy replied on September 24, 2009 17:12 to the problem "Why can't you get rid of vulgar porn avatars from getting into our follwer lists?" in Twitter:
Here's what you can do:
Go to Twitblock.org
Sign in with your Twitter account
Run your scan
All your spammy followers show up in a list
(Porn spammers usually have very high spam scores)
Then, just run down the list and click "block" on all the spammy ones!
You've just blocked a bunch of them without having to look at their tweets or "bio." Saves time, too.
The other week, there was a nice Twitter feature that took a pornchick's twitter pic and moved it off to the side (in the email follow notification) and put some piece of text in its place. What happened to that feature?
For now, just try Twitblock.org. Helps me out alot.

Another solution: Use twitblock.org. You sign in, it scans your followers, and rates them for spamminess. The prn girls are usually spammy, rated around 500 - so you just go down the list and block them all in one shot, like 5 seconds.
Great too, that you don't have to look at their twitter pages.
Works great.

You're right, janeaustenworld (great name!) But, I have come across another solution, that helps block spam in general.
There's a new application (in beta) that inspects your followers for spamminess, any kind of spam activity not just porn spam. It's pretty cool.
Called TwitBlock. Easy. Helps you block those twits ;-)
http://www.twitblock.com
If you can block twitter users with spam-like behavior, chances are you'll block the porn spammers too.
It works by a scoring mechanism, explained here:
http://web.2point1.com/2009/08/03/twi...
Now, what you can do is login at TwitBlock, but first disable pictures from loading in your browser. Then you can check the spam quotient without having to see the twitter users' pictures.
On the other hand, you can use some porn blocking software that prevents images from loading (using skin tone analysis in pics) with an app such as iShield:

Or maybe one of these others will work for you:

As for removing "sticky" followers and their images, see my post above.

OK. I'm talking about the kind of bot that causes you to follow them without your permission. Or one that follows you repeatedly after you block the profile. Those particular bots would be against the rules, I would think.
Like the bots referenced here:

@ratherbebiking I appreciate what you're saying. Fake accounts are all basically the same.
However, the issue most people are complaining about is nudity in the avatar/profile pics--which IS a violation of twitter guidelines.
I would think that bots are also a violation as well, am I wrong?
Anyway - I think it's clear that those fake spamming accounts which promote porn and/or nudity in avatar/profile pics are CONSIDERED by many to be particularly malicious. In other words, people feel violated and they have every right to get upset. And to seek ways to block those fake accounts in a way that removes the offending pics forever.
I know that those pics are not offensive to you personally, but please try to understand the viewpoint of others who have not asked to be exposed to them.

HERE'S HOW TO BLOCK THEM:
I found out how to fully get rid of those nasty followers, and get rid of the picture as well:

Here's how to get rid of those nasty followers:
1) Go to settings, and click "Protect my updates", then click "Save"
2) Go to your list of followers, and now one of your choices in the little Tool dropdown is"remove". This will get rid of that follower.
3) When you're done, go back & unprotect your updates.
another post from virtualpartner:
I had to go the their profile to block them and confirm the block. It was the only way to remove them completely. Didn't work from the new "followers" interface.
Hope this helps.
