An update from keerth at Twitter support via email:
Hey,
Thanks for writing to us.
We have more than one instance of this issue. The engineers
are working on this and will be resolved soon.

We appreciate your patience.
Our apologies.
Thanks,
Twitter Support
Just thought I would keep the community informed.
Twitter is growing explosively and is sure to have many of these kinds of problems to deal with. I hope they can catch-up real soon as I feel that this particular problem renders a lot of the Twitter value irrelevant. I want to get back into the Twitterverse again.
Thank you for the email update keerth from Twitter support. Best luck. Be well.

I posted this to the Twitter Help (http://help.twitter.com/requests/port...) shortly after I posted here and when I checked on the status there I see:
"You have no open requests "
so I looked to the right side and see:
"View your solved and closed requests"
and find:
My Tweets do not show-up in any searches. Has anyone else had this problem? I will take a... Sep 26 Solved Sep 26 Support
but it is not solved.
There is no reply from anyone explaining what could have been the problem and what the solution was to solve it. Now what?
I responded by extending the thread with this:
I see that this is marked solved and in the "View your solved and closed requests" section.
I am not sure what this means because, for example when I go to:
http://search.twitter.com/search?q=Te...
Tweets that I have initiated still do not show up.
When I search a keyword or text string directly from one of my tweets it does not show up in any searches.
Please respond and let me know what you found. Thank you.
Be well.
I will report what happens next.

TedWahler reported a problem in Twitter on September 26, 2009 17:24:
Tweets missing from searchMy Tweets do not show-up in any searches. Has anyone else had this problem?
I will take a keyword or text string directly from one of my tweets and search for it and it does not show up in any searches. I will RT something and search for it and everyone else who Tweeted the exact same thing seems to show up in the search but me. I looked for some setting configuration that may be causing this and searched the Twiitter support pages but don't see anything that addresses this.
I have tried searching for Tweets that I have made from several Twitter clients as well as from the web interface all with the same results. Try it yourself and see if it is something gone wrong at my local machine level. http://www.twitter.com/TedWahler
Thanks, Be well.

A comment on the question "Can I change email?" in DandyID:
Nothing on my end Paul. DandyID has been busy rolling-out a Facebook App in addition to a Wordpress plugin and several other extensions while letting this, in my mind, critical and simple oversight persist.
How can you take an identity aggregator seriously that doesn't allow you to migrate the email address that you have associated with it. I for one am phasing-out the email address I had originally signed-up with and this problem is the sole barrier to doing so.
Imagine if you changed jobs or got laid-off in this economy and were forced to change email just at the time that you needed to be relying on your social web connections? This issue is absurd. – TedWahler, on June 19, 2009 17:58

A comment on the question "Can I change email?" in DandyID:
This reply has been two months ago - what is the progress? For an ID aggregator site to not be able to offer the option of changing the subscribers email address seems absurd. I would hate to have to go through the whole process of setting up my account and verifying my identities again just to transition email addresses. Please understand this is important. – TedWahler, on June 06, 2009 20:58-
