Im having this same issue as well:

    502 Proxy Error

    Proxy Error

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /.

Reason: Error reading from remote server

GET / = http://twitterfeed.com/ (GET / is hyperlinked to that address)

Mike's reply to "Poll: Pins, or no Pins?" was just promoted to the most useful! TeeHee and 4 other people think it's one of the best replies.

    Mike
I think there should be an option form them to be turned on an off. And maybe you could apply your own skins to them. You already have the pins made, why take them off.

    TeeHee
Note: I just tried to install again... no luck :(

in the task bar (by my clock) i have running:

    *Mcafee Security Center
    * MSN Messenger (signed in)
    * HP Digital Imaging Monitor (printer software)
    * Incredimail
    * Local Area Connection Icon

As im typing this Mcafee is downloading a update ( i hover over the icon... and it just says downloading)

im running between 79-80 processes atm... cpu usage between 1-4%

    commit charge: 698M/2458M

but thats when im typing this.

also... now that i think about it... i had another problem when bumptop was working... sometimes when i clicked on a folder that i created or any of the icons e.g My computer... it didn't open on the first time clicking

you double clicked on it and it sat there like it didn't pick up on that you clicked on it....

but i don't think that that is related to my problems atm.

also... my invite is only a couple of days old (the 1st time i downloaded bumptop was only a short time after i picked up on the email with my invite code. (so it may have to be with either the code or the download package)...

but the package that i used in the vid... i had only downloaded from the link in my email not long before recording the video

i don't think that is related either.

    TeeHee
Hey Guys, sorry to hear about your problems. That shouldn't be happening.

Can you describe what the crash is like in more detail, and if you have specific steps that reproduce it every time so we can solve it?

    A few questions
    * Rohit, how does it freeze ? Does your screen go black? Or does BumpTop.exe just start spinning at 50 or 100% CPU?
    * TeeHee, if you close and restart BumpTop are things fine ?
    * Please try updating your video card driver. Some older video card drivers do have issues .

    Thanks.

it manly happens when i have something like mozilla firefox... internet explorer and folders such as my documents open, and if it is open for a period of time without minimizing it and when i do go to get to the desktop it won't flick back and freezes... then i have to end the bumptop process to go back to my regular desktop and to reopen bumptop.

i have looked on my graphics driver (nvidia) page... and i am up to date with drivers

    NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE
    178.24
Your PC currently has the latest driver installed for your GPU. No driver update is necessary at this time.

basically they are fine until i run firefox 3.0.3 ... or the other programs as stated above... plus full screen games.. and don't minimize after a while.

It may be to do with that when it was happening i had the 'under the ice' theme on bumptop

and bumptop doesn't report the crash, the only report i get is when i exit the process or program... and i get windows error reporting sometimes

"Might try running the installer/uninstaller as admin"

my user which i installed bumptop on in the first place is a admin account

also i have tried to install it in safe mode, but it won't let me saying something about not being able to because of privilliges (but that is with a admin account)... and i think that is related because it is in safe mode.

    hope my reply's help you

bumptop was runnning fine when i first installed it.. but had the occasional freeze up flicking from browsers or folders to the bumptop desktop... had to end the task to restart bumptop

but that video is what is happening to me when i try to install it again to get back bumptop.

I was really enjoying bumptop until this happened... but hopefully i will be able to enjoy it again

In regard to your 2nd post:

"Also, might you have any security software running during the installer? The PostInstallExecutable.exe kicks in to register our DLL, and then restart explorer. Both might not be possible with security software. Might try running the installer/uninstaller as admin."

I have Mcafee Security Center on my computer (I have included some pics which might help)

Mcafee was running fine when i first installed it on my user.

thanks for your quick reply ... im sorry about this being long

in regard to your 1st post: "Thanks for the video. Its odd that its hanging during install. Are you seeing that dialog everytime you log in?

Also, you should be able to remove it without seeing that dialog as long as you uninstall us directly from the Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs."

What happened was: I installed bumptop a couple of days ago... and then the next day, when i logged into my account (with administrator rites) when it was loading the desktop pop up windows installer boxes would appear but when i closed them (through task manager) it wasn't for the PostInstallExecutable.exe it was relating to some other programs i had on the computer

that since has gone away when clearing out my programs.

"Also, you should be able to remove it without seeing that dialog as long as you uninstall us directly from the Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs."

Unfortantually... i just looked at the Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs and bumptop isn't on the list ( i don't know if that is normal for this situation)
