When you get Wii Fit there should be sensor extensions that make the balance board higher. Put those on, and when you step on it, it will sink to the bottom of the carpet and then it will be fine. -

An $8 wood chopping board should do a fine job keeping the Wii Fit stable in any carpet thickness. -
