I tried to do this, but dont see the options you describe. When I convert from ppt to pdf, I can set the DPI resolution to screen.
But for the compression, I see options for below. But dont see any options for setting compression level
1) Compress Text and Line Art
2) Ascii Format
3) Downsample Images
4) Color Grayscale Images (Compress using JPG High/...)
6) Monochrome Images (Compress using JPG High/...)

Thanks for your help, rashmi. The text on the samples you produced are quite readable now, so that is an improvement. But the line quality in the artwork is poor, and many of the continuous tone gradients got converted into some strange moire fringe pattern.
The version with larger files is indeed better, but nowhere near what I would need to market my strip. Here's a link to one of the individual strips in the series with the quality I would need:

Hey agile,
I downloaded your file and uploaded it again here: http://www.slideshare.net/rashmi/vaca...
I saved it as pdf, turned off all image compression. The final results look much better in the full view. The file is bigger so it takes a bit longer to load, but well worth the efforts.
The problem with the slideview is that the image is too small. I would suggest increasing the size of the image so that it takes up larger area.
I tried that here: http://www.slideshare.net/rashmi/vaca...
I also tried uploading as ppt, the image quality is much worse. I think our conversion algorithms are doing something not quite right there and I will our engineers to look into it. IN the meantime, pdf if your friend.
Let me know when you have seen all these test slideshows and I will delete them all from my account. In general, I would like to see more comics on SlideShare, so I am glad to work with you to make sure the quality is what you want.

Thanks rashmi. Here's the link to my slideshare powerpoint. It's for a comic strip I'm developing, so crisp lines in the graphics and readability of the text is of the highest importance. As you can see, when the screen image is left to the default size, it's too small to see clearly. And when it's increased to full-size, the quality is awful.

The image files should render fine unless the image has text in it. The text in the image often does not render very well.
I find that sometimes it works better when I save the file as pdf (and make sure the image is not getting compressed too much).
If you point me to your slidehsow, I might be able to give you more tips.-

Poor final image qualityI'm using 300dpi JPEG files in my ppt file that look crisp and clear, but the final slideshare show looks awful. What's up?
