Oh incidentally I don't have a 3G phone either... it's the SW that makes the difference and I don't think there's enough HW change to matter (though you may have to implement greater error correction and sometimes my phone tells me I'm in Colorado when I'm in MD :> )

Awesome, I'm excited about it... the other services kinda stink .. although I could see where some are a bit different (i.e. they allow tagging /searching of places e.g. "bookstores near me" but no zooming, etc...

If you want a beta tester and feedback I'll be happy to help!
Till then I'll cross my fingers & check out the blog!

I hate the "OK" popup on the iPhone ping page

I love Ping.fm but .. Can you remove the popup "OK" from the iphone page? I find it really annoying.

I want to type a message and hit "OK" and be done with it... that forces me to take a wierd step just so you can tell me "OK"

Also, since you know all the services a particular person is on help me connect with them! i.e. I know someone on twitter and when I join brightkite you could help me find those friends vs. me having to use brightkite or plaxo (and be forced to wait for them to integrate support)

I'm loving ping and thought maybe you should consider adding some of the more geo-location aware services.
Brightkite and dopplr spring to mind. In general I also like radar.net (it's like tumblr meets flickr).

Anyway, know you got enough to do but thought I'd help ensure the ToDo list stayed long! :)

Don't get me wrong I think they're pretty just disruptive.
What about a "timeout" setting vs. a "click to close"
It could default to infinite (-1) and require a click, or in my account setting I could set it to 0 to never see them... or "2" which would simulate the close click after 2 seconds.

Can I dismiss the little "yay this worked" bubbles? they slow down my flow, are very annoying to deal with constantly and seem gratuitous

Sorry forgot to get back to this. Not much to screen shoot, I just deleted my tumblr info ... but what I'd do was go to the "edit settings" link and it would have my accounts all in a nice column w/ check-marks. Then I'd de-check tumblr and hit back (which from the source looks like it's tied to the submit action).
But when I posted it would still goto tumblr and when I did "edit settings" again the check was still there.

Actually "Back" seems to be the submit... the problem is that it's not storing the "decheck" on my tumbler account

"Control what services your messages are delivered to. Or, disable your account entirely."
I can deselect an account but there's no button to "Save"
