there is an alternative method installing, which I found, as I couldn't install the normal way either.
Use winrar to unpack the crx file. Open Chrome and type in "chrome://extensions"(without the quotation marks) . On the right you'll see "Load unpacked extension...", browse to the unpacked folder and voila!, it works :) – Petr, on September 15, 2009 14:00

Kris seems to have solved the problem

Just after upgrading, I deleted all my Chrome bookmarks, then deleted all extraneous folders in Firefox (duplicate "Bookmarks bar" folders that had been created earlier), then resynced everything up. For me at least, everything seems to be working fine now.
For me it resolved the issue too!-

download button in embedded viewI might be wrong, but I am under the impression that embedded mode offered a download button for the publication. The only place where download is visible is viewing the document through issuu non embedded mode.
Is that a change or is my memory just wrong?

Problem seem to be solved. I have created a new PDF, this time "document tags" were ticked and it is fully searchable. – Petr, on April 28, 2009 12:12

I seem to have a problem with the search function.
It appear that the search looks only at the current page, but ignores the rest of the document. Saying that I am sure I have had multi page documents where it worked perfectly.
Can you please shed some light at this? http://issuu.com/alphason/docs/alphas...
Thanks.

I have now cracked at least one problem; In order to ISSUU to index the file correctly I had to change the name and weblink in the upload; Still can't get internal page links to work. I'll try anchors instead – Petr, on April 23, 2009 12:48

Hyperlinks seem to be a mine field for me too.
All hyperlinks created in InDesign (& PDFed) work when uploaded to Issuu. However, when I edit these links in Acrobat with the links tool Issuu doesn't recognise these changed links and refers back to the original InDesign structure.
I find this odd, as I am actually changing the shape of the hotspot area originally created in InDesign and therefore I'd expect to see the shape of teh hotspot changed.
Any new added links from Acrobat are not available once uploaded on Issuu.
I wonder if this actual issue is down to the fact that I have uploaded the same document with the only the links amended and Issuu engine somehow thinks it is the same document as the other one and doesn't process it correctly.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

full menu in full screen modeI have finally managed to reduce the number of buttons in embed mode, by designing a custom theme.
However, as I am showing a product catalogue, I'd like to allow users to print/download/search, etc in the full screen mode. It seems to me obvious that when somebody is so interested in the document to look at it in full screen, they are likely to do any/all the above functions.
I don't wish to have these controls in the embedded mode as it is only 702px x 365px and it takes too much valuable "real estate" on the screen.
Can you please help out?
Thank you,
Petr
