Michael Harris replied on November 17, 2009 04:05 to the idea "Use TripIt information to create a new expense" in Atlantic Dominion Solutions:
Sorry Robert, but there's still no documentation out there on this subject which I can find (just pointing people to Get Satisfaction when clicking on the help link is poor). And if there's supposed to be some integration beyond mapping expenses back to a individual trip or travel item then its at best poor.
For example, I may have trip parts in my tripit travel plan as directions or note - yet I can't map expenses to these. I can only map them to booked travel and accomidation.
Sorry, but I'm just not sold on the value of your application and will be looking for other tripit integrated expense managers until this application is given the kick in the pants it so desperatly needs.

Need to mark expenses as completedCommuting expenses - why can't I mark an expense as completed and knock it out of the list?
Instead you just get this great big list of expenses which you can't do anything with.

Fix the reporting workflowThe post submission workflow for reporting needs some significant work.
Firstly, the amount of screen space utilised for the share/network box at the top of the screen needs to be overhauled. This takes up too much room and could be much better designed.
Also, why doesn't this screen allow me to report another issue straight away in the same or immediate vicinity of the one I just reported. The user instead has to start from scratch, search from the location, and go through the process again.

Make available an APIPlease make available an API for this service to enable the development of mobile applications to ease reporting of issues.
This would be brilliant, as I would love to see an application which could utilise either/both a mobile phone's GPS and cameras to easily and quickly report faults in my neighbourhood.

Implement user loginsPlease implement a login system (either own, open ID, facebook connect) so users can maintain and store preferences and track progress on own-submitted issues easily.
Also, this would enable a user to define a custom start location for the google map displayed and identify favourite locations.

ping.fm integration not workingWhen I've been crating my tweets using the hootsuite dashboard, the ping.fm integration has not been working.
It was working previously up until June 1, then it just suddenly stopped without warning.
Application keys have been checked and are OK, have just reset my application key and have updated in settings here to see if this has any affect.
However, if this doesn't change things I suspect that something's broken with ping.fm integration.

Dreamweaver CS4: Enter does not open file from file browserHaving to work on a very large and nasty website at the moment, I like to click on the file I need to work on in the file browser and then press enter to open it - this would be logical.
However, it doesn't work. Dreamweaver won't even respect Command-O to do this. You instead have to double click on the file, or control click and select open.
This is also annoying when you drag highlight multiple files which you wish to open at the same time, as only control click > open will work to acheive this.
Michael Harris reported a problem in atebits on May 22, 2009 08:05:
Growl notifications don't display sender name, open tweetie, display sender avitarWhenever Tweetie notifies me about a new tweet with a Growl notification, it fails to tell me who the tweet was from.
Additionally, clicking on the notifications does nothing. One would have hoped doing this would open the current window for the application.
Finally, the growl notification could also display the sender's avitar for some additional personalisation.

A comment on the problem "Manually remove Adobe Air runtime from mac when there is no Air uninstaller on the machine" in Adobe:
All is forgiven, and my annoyance is just a manifestation of the long-time frustration I and many other long time paying customers have suffered at the hands of Adobe.
We rely on these applications day in, day out as part of our jobs in the creative industries, and the lack of commitment to fixing basic issues (like a new problem report I've just opened which has existed since Adobe Acrobat 6) "grinds my gears." – Michael Harris, on February 25, 2009 03:50

Acrobat 6/7/8/9 and Microsoft Office shortcut conflictsWhy oh why does Adobe have to select a menu shortcut for the Adobe Comments menu which is already in use within MS Word.
This problem dates back to Acrobat 6, with its MS Office integration and despite having sent several emails over the years and feature requests its never been fixed.
In summary, the Adobe Comments menu is accessed using Alt+C. This key command is already used by the Header and footer toolbar, for exiting header and footer editing mode.
So, if you live and die by keyboard shortcuts for quick working and are done editing your header/footer, you're stuck and have to go back to the mouse to exit because Adobe used a shortcut command which was already in use elsewhere in the application.
Please Adobe, I implore you to fix this problem - why something as basic and annoying hasn't been fixed in four major releases of a product befuddles me.
Michael Harris replied on February 23, 2009 09:30 to the question "Uninstall Adobe AIR" in Adobe:
The uninstaller can be found in /Applications/Utilities folder.
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AIR/1.5/d...
Why it's here and not in the individual application's directory itself is beyond me - nothing like the inconsistency of Adobe's user experience to make for great times.
A comment on the problem "Manually remove Adobe Air runtime from mac when there is no Air uninstaller on the machine" in Adobe:
No offense Jamie, but that's a bog standard answer I'd expect from tech support.
The answer for all those wondering can be found here:
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AIR/1.5/d...
I've just made a decent post on Adobe User Experience issues, and I think its high time the company started putting a bit more care into the little things that make a big difference rather than just pushing out new versions for the sake of it. Why is the uninstaller for this application in a different location to everything else? How about a little consistency. – Michael Harris, on February 23, 2009 09:27
