Update: I just did a new install of Ubuntu 8.04 with Firefox 3.01 [Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008072820 Firefox/3.0.1] and Adobe Flash Player 9,0,124,0 installed, and Seesmic videos are playing OK. I was using 1GB RAM before when I had the problem, and I have 3GB RAM in this new PC. Seems to be working now. Might be an issue with the amount of RAM in one's PC.

Same problem here with both Firefox 3b5 w/Flash Player 10,0,1,218 and Flock 1.2.1 w/Flash Player 9,0,124,0 on Linux Mint 5 (aka Ubuntu 8.04 + cool stuff the Linux Mint team added). The Linux Mint team has done something to tweak FF3b5 so when Flash crashes, it doesn't take the browser down with it, but once that's happened, Flash stops working on any pages (ie YouTube) until you close and reopen FF3b5.
Flock 1.2.1 (aka FF2.0.0.14) crashes completely when it hits a Seesmic video.
Damndest thing, though. If I run a liveCD of Mandriva One KDE 2008 Spring with (I think) Firefox 2.0.0.14 and whatever version of Flash they have loaded on that CD, Seesmic and pages with Seesmic video replies play just fine.
So I can't blame it on Linux in general, but I do think it's crashing Flash and then taking down the browser with it.-
