Fair enough. Then I guess I'd like to amend my idea suggestion to add some support for commonly used words like 'Home', 'Work' or 'School' and say, "We don't know that place yet! Try adding a placemark!" ... maybe even highlight the Placemarks button in the left column. (Anything that helps a user to flow through the site without having to think too much about it or search for help, right?)

Edward Tufte's got my back, I just know it.

If I feel comfortable telling BrightKite where I live or work, then the next time I check in, could it just be from from 'Home' or 'Work'? Wouldn't that be pretty easy to map to my stored 'home' or 'work' (or whatever) location, so I don't always have to put in the full street address?

Unless I'm misunderstanding the point of this service... but, I won't always be checking in from a bright, shiny new place. (Is the point more to 'geo-twittr + photo' where I am, or to 'yelp' about new places?) Much of the time, I'm at 'Home' or 'Work.' (Or on my bike. ;)
